DFS - Fantasy Basketball - NBA Fanduel Lineup, Picks, & Advice - 10/23/18 - Updated!

Games

7:30pm – Philadelphia 76ers at Detroit Pistons (Spread: DET -1; O/U 215)

8:00pm – Los Angeles Clippers at New Orleans Pelicans (Spread: NO -6.5; O/U: 238.5)

9:00pm – Sacramento Kings at Denver Nuggets (Spread: DEN -12; O/U: 228.5)

Key Injuries

Ben Simmons (Back) – Doubtful - As of late this morning, Simmons was downgraded to doubtful however, we'll need to keep an eye on this.

Andre Drummond (Illness) – Active – Battling the Flu but looks as if he is going to play tonight.

Will Barton (Groin) – Out

Jamal Murray (Leg) – Injured leg in his last game but was not on the injury report this morning.

Lineup

Point Guard

T.J McConnell (PHI) - $4,000 & Landry Shamet (PHI) - $3,700 – As Simmons has been downgraded to “doubtful” I’m going to roster both T.J. McConnell & Landry Shamet as they should both see at least 20-25 minutes and I’m just hoping that one of them has a 25-30 point performance as I play on using my “low score dropped” on one of these two players. McConnell is the more proven player of the two and filled in nicely at times last season for the 76ers and even put up a big performance here and there as he had a triple double last year against the Knicks (10 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds, 6 steals). Shamet looks like he already has a solid role with the 2nd unit as he has gotten a combined 50 minutes over the last two games and he showed his ability to fill the stat sheet earlier this season agianst the Bulls as in 29 minutes, he had 12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 block, & 2 steals.

Shooting Guard

Reggie Bullock (DET) - $4,400 – Reggie Bullock missed the season opener against Brooklyn due to an injury however, he seemed fine in his season opener agianst the Bulls last Saturday as he registered a surprising 30 minutes of action. Bullock finished with 16 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and a block and it looks like he certainly has the green light to shoot the basketball as he put up 13 shots in the victory. Bullock should get plenty of open looks with teams doubling down on both Griffin & Drummond and at just $4,400, I think Bullock has some great value if he is going to get 30 minutes a game.

Lou Williams (PHI) - $5,500 – The total in the Clippers/New Orleans game continues to raise as it’s currently set at 238.5 and if the Clippers have any chance of coming out of New Orleans with a victory, they are going to need a vintage scoring game from Lou Williams. Williams was outstanding last season (22.6 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 5.3 apg, 1.1 spg) and although his minutes are down a bit to start the season, I can see Doc Rivers giving Williams plenty of run as he is arguably the best pure scorer on Los Angeles.

Small Forward

Danilo Gallinari (LAC) - $6,600 – Danilo Gallinari looks finally healthy and you have to like the value he brings to the table tonight as he comes into this game averaging 20.7 ppg, 2.0 apg, & 7.3 rpg in 31.0 mpg. Gallinari is almost averaging 5x value with 32.5 FanDuel points per game and I like his match-up tonight against a Pelicans team that will likely have to through Mirotic or Moore at him which should be a huge advantage for Gallinari. As I mentioned with Lou Williams, if the Clippers stand a chance tonight, they are going to need Gallinari to have a huge game.

Nikola Mirotic (NO) - $7,400 – Nikola Mirotic has been outstanding to start the 2018-19 season and I’m still surprised that he is listed at this price after he has scored 30+ points in each of his first two games and is averaging 47.7 ppg. Mirotic is a perfect complement to Anthony Davis as he does a great job stretching the floor when teams double down on Davis. We obviously can’t expect Mirotic to continue to shoot 61.0% from the field and 64.7% from beyond the arc, but as this should be another high scoring game, I think we can get at least 40+ points from Mirotic again.

Power Forward

Anthony Davis (NO) - $13,000 – Anthony Davis is once again showing that he is arguably the best player in the NBA as over his first two games of the season, Davis is averaging 28.5 ppg, 13.0 rpg, 7.0 apg, 2.5 bpg, & 2.5 spg. Davis is extremely expensive however, I think he is worth in this match-up agianst the Clippers as I just don’t see how Montrezl Harrell or Marcin Gortat will have any chance of slowing down Davis in this one. New Orleans is averaging a crazy 140.0 ppg so far and as the Clippers certainly haven’t looked strong on the defensive end early in the season, I expect Davis and the New Orleans offense to have another big game.

Marvin Bagley III (SAC) - $4,700 – Bagley III has made an immediate impact for the Kings as the rookie out of Duke comes into his match-up agianst the Nuggets averaging 12.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.0 apg, & 1.3 spg. Bagley has gotten at least 24 minutes of playing time in 3 of the 4 Kings games this season including a 33 minute performance agianst New Orleans in which he posted a monster stat line up 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, & a block. Bagley has a long way to come as a defender however, luckily for as, offense is more important when it comes to DFS and if he can get 30 minutes tonight, I think he’ll easily hit his value.

Joel Embiid (PHI) - $10,700 – I originally had Zack Pachulia in this spot when Drummond was listed as game time decision, however, now that Drummond is a go and Ben Simmons is doubtful, I’ve decided to pay up for Joel Embiid as we should see an uptick in his usage tonight. Embiid is one of the best players in the league and comes into this match-up averaging 28.3 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 2.7 apg & 2.0 bpg. Embiid is averaging a solid 34.3 minutes this season and between the fact that Vegas predicts a close game and that the 76ers will need Embiid defense & size vs. Griffin and Drummond, I’m expecting a big game from Embiid.

Please remember, this is just an initial lineup which is likely to change depending on the final injury status of some of the key members that we’re listed above The NBA is tough when it comes to DFS do to a lot of the information concerning injuries not being available until shortly before tip-off, however, we will provided an updated lineup about 15-30 minutes prior to the slate starting so please come back for the updates!
