Key Injuries/Inactive Players
Ben Simmons (Back) – TBD, Chris Paul (Suspension) – Out, Kris Dunn (Knee) – Out, Rajon Rondo (Suspension) – Out, Klay Thompson (Ankle) – Probable, Harrison Barnes (Hamstring) – Out, Brandon Ingram (Suspension) – Out, John Collins (Ankle) – Out, James Johnson (Abdomen) – Out ,Joel Embiid (Rest) – GTD, Hassan Whiteside (Hip) – Probable, Dwight Howard (Back) – Out ,Alex Len (Elbow) – Probable
PG – Stephen Curry (GSW) - $9,800 - Stephen Curry is showing no signs of slowing down as the dynamic point-guard for Golden State has been outstanding this season as he is currently averaging 30.5 ppg, 7.8 apg, 5.0 rpg, & 1.3 spg. Curry generally is a monster at home and over his first two games of the season, he is shooting 57.9% from the field & 50.0% from beyond the arc at ORACLE Arena. Washington is ranked in the middle of road when it comes to overall defensive rating (14th) & defensive vs. PG (18th) and as I think Washington has a lineup that can this game close enough, I expect Curry to get a full run of minutes tonight.
SG – Malik Monk (CHA) - $4,700 – Malik Monk has made major strides in his 2nd season in the NBA as the shooting guard out of Kentucky is currently averaging 13.5 ppg, 2.0 apg, 2.0 rpg, & 1.0 bpg. The CHA/CHI game actually has the 3rd highest over/under on the slate tonight and I think that just bodes well for Monk who had no problem putting up shots as he has 10+ attempts in each of Hornets first 4 games. Monk is averaging 26.8 mpg and has been outplaying Jeremy Lamb and as I think the Hornets will need the scoring from Monk tonight, I think he has some nice value at this price.
SF – T.J. Warren (PHX) - $4,800 – T.J. Warren is coming off the bench this season but that hasn’t slowed him down as the 4th year forward out of NC State is currently averaging 20.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, & 1.7 apg. We are going to have plenty of exposure of the LAL/PHX game tonight as it has the highest over/under on the slate and I’m encouraged that even in just 24 minutes against the Warriors, Warren was able to get up 17 shots. Warren is very reasonably priced and as the match-up is solid against the Lakers, I think Warren has some solid value tonight.
PF - Kyle Kuzma (LAL) - $7,200 – Kyle Kuzma is a great DFS player to roster as this is a guy that doesn’t have any problem putting up a ton of shots, even with Lebron James on his team. In his first start of the season agianst the Spurs this past Monday, Kuzma had a monster game as he went for 37 points (15-25 FG), 8 rebounds, & 3 assists. Kuzma will be once against starting tonight for the suspended Brandon Ingram which is great for his DFS value as he should see about 35 minutes of action and as this game had the potential to be the highest scoring game of the night, I think Kuzma is almost a must play tonight.
C - Deandre Ayton (PHX) - $7,700 – Deandre Ayton is showing the NBA why he was the overall top pick in last year’s NBA draft as Ayton comes into this game averaging 14.3 ppg, 10.7 rpg, & 4.0 apg. Ayton has a great match-up agianst the Lakers who rank 27th defensively agianst centers to start the season and has seen plenty of playing time to start the season as he is averaging 30.0 mpg. Ayton has huge upside as he has posted two 45+ DraftKings performance so far this season and as I think he’ll dominate tonight, I think he comes in at great value at his $7,700 price.
G – Zach LaVine (CHI) - $7,700 - Zach LaVine has been outstanding to start the season as he has clearly shown he is the go-to option on the offensive end for the Bulls and with Dunn being out for the next 4-6 weeks, he should have incredible usage. As we mentioned with Kemba Walker, this game has the 3rd highest over/under on the slate which should mean a big day for LaVine that comes in averaging 32.3 ppg, 2.7 apg, 3.7 rpg. LaVine is very scoring dependent, however, he has put up 30+ points in each of his first three games of the season and currently is shooting an incredible 61.8% from the field.
F - Kelly Oubre Jr. (WAS) - $4,200 – With all the money that we’ve spend at the PG & SG positions, we needed to go for value at the small forward and it starts with Kelly Oubre Jr. Oubre Jr. logged an incredible 39 minutes last game after the Wizards decided to go small with Ian Mahinmi leaving the game early and between the fact that Howard is out, Mahinmi is questionable and that it’s a good chance that the Wizards go small agianst the Warriors, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Oubre Jr. log 30+ minutes tonight. Oubre Jr. is averaging 13.0 ppg & 6.0 rpg on the season but those numbers should only improve if he continues to get the minutes.
Utility – Marvin Bagley III (SAC) - $4,800 – Marvin Bagley III continues to impress for the Kings and is coming off his best performance as a pro last night against the Nuggets as he went for 20 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, & 5 blocks in 32 minutes. Bagley is an incredible offensive player and is shooting 60.0% from the field so far this season and although he is coming off the bench he is seeing plenty of playing time as he has gone for 30+ minutes in 2 of the Kings first 4 games. Vegas thinks that the Kings will be able to hang around with the Grizzlies in this one and as I’m not worried about Bagley’s minutes on the 2nd half of a back to back as he is young rookie, I think we need to roster Bagley III while his price is still under $5,000.
Please remember, this is just an initial lineup which is likely to change depending on the final injury status of some of the key members that we’re listed above The NBA is tough when it comes to DFS do to a lot of the information concerning injuries not being available until shortly before tip-off, however, we will provided an updated lineup about 15-30 minutes prior to the slate starting so please come back for the updates!
