Key Injuries/Inactive Players
Ben Simmons (Back) – TBD, Chris Paul (Suspension) – Out, Kris Dunn (Knee) – Out, Rajon Rondo (Suspension) – Out, Klay Thompson (Ankle) – Probable, Harrison Barnes (Hamstring) – Out, Brandon Ingram (Suspension) – Out, John Collins (Ankle) – Out, James Johnson (Abdomen) – Out, Joel Embiid (Rest) – GTD, Hassan Whiteside (Hip) – Probable, Dwight Howard (Back) – Out ,Alex Len (Elbow) – Probable
Stephen Curry (GSW) - $9,300 – Stephen Curry is showing no signs of slowing down as the dynamic point-guard for Golden State has been outstanding this season as he is currently averaging 30.5 ppg, 7.8 apg, 5.0 rpg, & 1.3 spg. Curry generally is a monster at home and over his first two games of the season, he is shooting 57.9% from the field & 50.0% from beyond the arc at ORACLE Arena. Washington is ranked in the middle of road when it comes to overall defensive rating (14th) & defensive vs. PG (18th) and as I think Washington has a lineup that can this game close enough, I expect Curry to get a full run of minutes tonight.
Kemba Walker (CHA) - $8,400 – It’s important that we don’t overlook the Charlotte at Chicago match-up tonight as it currently is posting the 3rd highest over/under at 234. Walker has shown that he can an elite PG in this league and with Kris Dunn out, he has what should be a great matchup against Cameron Payne/Ryan Arcidiacono. Walker has been outstanding to start the season as he is averaging 33.0 ppg, 5.3 apg, 3.5 rpg, & 1.0 spg and I think he is a top play tonight as he’ll easily hit 5x value at his $8,400 price.
Devin Booker (PHO) - $8,000 – The Lakers/Suns game has the highest over/under on the slate and with Vegas thinking this could be a close game as the Lakers are only slight favorites, this match-up should have plenty of DFS action tonight and I want to make sure I have the Suns best offensive weapon in Devin Booker. Booker has played an averaged 36.0 mpg to start the season and has produced well as he comes into this game averaging 29.3 ppg, 6.7 apg, 3.7 rpg, & 1.0 spg. The Lakers rank just 25th in team defense and has been the 2nd easiest matchup for shooting guards so far this season.
Zach LaVine (CHI) - $7,700 - Zach LaVine has been outstanding to start the season as he has clearly shown he is the go-to option on the offensive end for the Bulls and with Dunn being out for the next 4-6 weeks, he should have incredible usage. As we mentioned with Kemba Walker, this game has the 3rd highest over/under on the slate which should mean a big day for LaVine that comes in averaging 32.3 ppg, 2.7 apg, 3.7 rpg. LaVine is very scoring dependent, however, he has put up 30+ points in each of his first three games of the season and currently is shooting an incredible 61.8% from the field.
Kelly Oubre Jr. (WAS) - $4,200 – With all the money that we’ve spend at the PG & SG positions, we needed to go for value at the small forward and it starts with Kelly Oubre Jr. Oubre Jr. logged an incredible 39 minutes last game after the Wizards decided to go small with Ian Mahinmi leaving the game early and between the fact that Howard is out, Mahinmi is questionable and that it’s a good chance that the Wizards go small agianst the Warriors, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Oubre Jr. log 30+ minutes tonight. Oubre Jr. is averaging 13.0 ppg & 6.0 rpg on the season but those numbers should only improve if he continues to get the minutes.
DeAndre’ Bembry (ATL) - $3,900 – DeAndre’ Bembry has some solid upside as the looks like he has established himself as one of the main options on Atlanta’s 2nd unit. I like Bembry as he is a solid defender and has the ability to rack up points on the defense end as he has 5 steals over his first three games of the season. Bembry comes into this game averaging 9.0 ppg, 2.0 apg, 3.3 rpg, & 1.7 spg and has a plus matchup against the Dallas Mavericks who rank below average agianst SF’s. Bembry is averaging 23.7 mpg but depending on the situation, he certainly can get more run as he went for 32 minutes agianst Memphis this season.
Kyle Kuzma (LAL) - $7,200 – Kyle Kuzma is a great DFS player to roster as this is a guy that doesn’t have any problem putting up a ton of shots, even with Lebron James on his team. In his first start of the season agianst the Spurs this past Monday, Kuzma had a monster game as he went for 37 points (15-25 FG), 8 rebounds, & 3 assists. Kuzma will be once against starting tonight for the suspended Brandon Ingram which is great for his DFS value as he should see about 35 minutes of action and as this game had the potential to be the highest scoring game of the night, I think Kuzma is almost a must play tonight.
Ryan Anderson (PHX) - $3,500 – Ryan Anderson had not gotten off to a solid start to his season as he is averaging just 4.3 ppg & 3.7 RPG, but I don’t mind making him my “low score doesn’t count” play tonight as he has seen 20+ minutes in each of his first three games and should be in a high scoring game agianst the Lakers. Anderson is shooting just 26.3% from the field & 16.7% from beyond the arc and is too good of a shooter for those numbers not to improve and as he still has the potential to put up a 20+ point game while throwing in some rebounds and assists, I think there are worse “punt” plays at $3,500.
Deandre Ayton (PHX) - $7,700 – Deandre Ayton is showing the NBA why he was the overall top pick in last year’s NBA draft as Ayton comes into this game averaging 14.3 ppg, 10.7 rpg, & 4.0 apg. Ayton has a great match-up agianst the Lakers who rank 27th defensively agianst centers to start the season and has seen plenty of playing time to start the season as he is averaging 30.0 mpg. Ayton has huge upside as he has posted two 45+ FanDuel performance so far this season and as I think he’ll dominate tonight, I think he comes in at great value at his $7,700 price.
Please remember, this is just an initial lineup which is likely to change depending on the final injury status of some of the key members that we’re listed above The NBA is tough when it comes to DFS do to a lot of the information concerning injuries not being available until shortly before tip-off, however, we will provided an updated lineup about 15-30 minutes prior to the slate starting so please come back for the updates!
