NBA - Main Slate (5:00 PM) - FanDuel Lineup for 10/28/18
NBA – Fantasy Basketball – Fanduel Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 10/28/18
We have a 4-game slate for Sunday, October 28th and let’s take a look at the games, key injuries, and our initial FanDuel lineup.
This is just my initial lineup based on the information we have available in the morning. Injuries play a huge roll in our DFS lineups so please come back later! If it’s a real last minute update in which I don’t have time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!
5:00pm – Golden State at Brooklyn (Spread: GSW -10; O/U 227)
7:00pm – Phoenix at Oklahoma City (Spread: OKC -12.5; O/U 219)
7:00pm – Utah at Dallas (Spread: UTH -4.5; O/U 213.5)
9:30pm – Washington at LA Clippers (Spread: LAC -4; O/U 230)
Key Injuries/Inactive Players
Russell Westbrook (Shoulder) – GTD; Devin Booker (Hamstring) – Out; Dwight Howard (Back) – Out; Dennis Smith Jr. (Ankle) – Active; Markieff Morris (Illness) – GTD; DeMarre Carroll (Ankle) – Out; Dirk Nowitzki (Ankle) - Out
Update (4:20 PM) - I don't think we're going to know Russell Westbrook's status prior to FanDuel's 5:00 PM tip off time so I made some adjustments to my lineup.
I decided to pay up for Devon Mitchell & Kevin Durant now and to help open up some of the salary, I replaced John Wall with Dennis Smith Jr. who is active. I decided to stay with Paul George and Jerami Grant as their minutes/output shouldn't be that affected whether or not Westbrook does play. I'm "punting" Alec Burks at the SG and to help afford Durant, I decided to replace Harrell with Josh Jackson who should be starting and have some better usage with Booker offically ruled out.
Image is updated with my current lineup!
PG - John Wall (WAS) - $9,500 – I’m worry a bit about a blowout with the Golden State/Brooklyn game so instead of going with Curry, I’m going to be spending up for John Wall of the Washington Wizards. Wall comes into this game averaging 21.2 ppg, 7.6 apg, 3.0 rpg, 1.8 bpg, & 1.8 spg. Wall is coming off one of his best games of the season as in 37 minutes agianst Sacramento, he put up 26 points (9-20 FG), 8 assists, 2 rebounds, 3 blocks, & 3 steals. The Clippers have been the best defense agianst SG’s which should make life tough on Beal, however, they ranked just 23rd in defense agianst PG’s and as Wall will have a bit higher usage tonight, I think he can put up another 55+ point game tonight.
PG - Ricky Rubio (UTA) – 5,700 – Ricky Rubio exploded last night as he easily put together his best game of the season last night against the New Orleans Pelicans, as he had a double-double with 28 points (8-14 FG), 12 assists, 6 rebounds, and a steal. I don’t expect that Rubio will be able to repeat that time of performance however, you have to love his match-up against the Dallas Mavericks who rank just 27th in team defense coming into this game and has allowed 113.5 ppg in their last two games. The Mavericks have been awful defending opposing PG’s this season as they currently rank 28th against the position and I think Rubio will be able to hit value tonight as in three games against the Mavericks last season, he averaged 16.3 ppg, 5.0 apg, 4.0 rpg, & 3.3 spg.
SG - Luka Doncic (DAL) - $7,400 – When you watch Luka Doncic, it’s hard to believe the Dallas rookie is only 19 years old. Doncic has been everything the Mavericks could have hoped for as over his first five games in his NBA career, Doncic is averaging 19.6 ppg, 3.8 apg, & 6.2 rpg on 34.6 mpg. Doncic gets a tough Utah team tonight however, I don’t mind the match-up as the Jazz are on the 2nd game of a back-to-back and if they struggled defensively agianst any position, it’s with shooting guards as they rank 29th in the NBA against the SG position. Doncic has hit 30+ FanDuel points in 4 of his 5 games this season and if the Mavericks stand any chance in this game, they’ll need a big game from their rookie.
SG - Dennis Schroder (OKC) - $6,700 – I’m really hoping that Russell Westbrooks injury status is determined prior to the 5:00pm tip-off as I’m going with a lineup right now on the basis that he isn’t going to play as he missed practice yesterday due to a shoulder injury and I wouldn’t put it pass the Thunder to rest their star point guard in favorable match-up against the Suns. If Westbrook is out, I’m getting Dennis Schroder in my lineup as in 30.0 mpg this season, the 5-year veteran is averaging 13.3 ppg, 7.0 apg, 4.3 rpg, & 1.3 spg. Schroder has put up double-digit shots in each of his 4 games this season and I expect that more FG’s will start to fall for him as he is shooting just 30.0% from the field and 29.4% from beyond the arc. Schroder put up an impressive 48.6 point performance agianst a fast paced team in Golden Start to open his season and as I think the match-up agianst the Suns is great for Schroder, I love him tonight if Westbrook doesn’t play.
SF - Mikal Bridges (PHO) - $3,500 – Mikal Bridges is my “punt/low score doesn’t count” option of the day. Bridges, the talented rookie out of Villanova, is averaging just 4.8 ppg, 1.0 apg, & 2.2 rpg on the season however, I’m encouraged after seeing him get 24 minutes last game while posting 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. If Devin Booker doesn’t go again, I expect to see Bridges to get some additional minutes and if he can get us 20-25 FD points, I’ll be happy.
SF - Paul George (OKC) - $8,900 - Similar Dennis Schroder, I’m currently going with Paul George on the basis that I believe Russell Westbrook won’t be suiting up tonight. The good thing about George is that he still is save if Russell Westbrook gives it a go as on the season he is averaging 24.5 ppg, 3.0 apg, 6.0 rpg, & 2.5 spg. Phoenix comes into this game ranking 28th in team defense and hasn’t been great agianst the SF position as they rank just 21st vs. the position. George has put up a ton of shots this season, putting up 20+ shots per game and as I expect his shooting percentage (36.7% FG; 28.6% 3P) to improve, I don’t think it will be long until we see George putting up 50+ FanDuel nights.
PF - Montrezl Harrell (LAC) -$5,500 – I just don’t understand how Montrezl Harrell’s price is still this low. Harrell is averaging just 20 mpg on the season however, has put up an impressive stat line of 13.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.2 bpg, & 1.0 spg. Harrell has been by far the best presence down low for the Clippers and it looks as if he is starting to earn more playing time as he has averaged 25.0 mpg over his last three games. Harrell is shooting an impressive 60.5% from the field and 91.7% from the FT-line this season and between the fact that he has registered at least 2 blocks in every game this season and that he is averaging 41.3 FanDuel points over his last three games, I think Harrell as some of the best value on the board.
PF - Jerami Grant (OKC) - $4,800 – Jerami Grant and Patrick Patterson were in a battle throughout preseason for the starting PF spot and although Patterson started the first 4 games, it looks like Grant has already passed him as he got the start in the Thunder’s previous game against the Celtics. Even if Patterson starts, Grant has been playing much more and in 28.8 mpg, he is averaging 7.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.5 apg & 2.0 bpg. Grant has a great match-up against the Phoenix Suns who rank just 28th against the PF position and as I’m encouraged that he has put up double-digit shot attempts over his last two games, I think Grant has some nice value tonight.
C – Deandre Ayton (PHO) – $8,000 – Deandre Ayton has been impressive so far in his NBA career as the rookie out of Arizona is currently averaging 17.8 ppg, 10.2 rpg, & 4.0 apg in 30.8 mpg this season and the scariest part, is that I think that he is only going to be getting better. Ayton has been unbelieve over his last two games as he has combined for 46 points on 23 of 27 shooting, while also adding 19 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 blocks. Oklahoma City currently is ranked just 21st vs. the Center position on the season and as Ayton has had 44.0+ in each of his last three games, I think Ayton will be able to continue to impress tonight.
