NBA – Fantasy Basketball – Fanduel Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 10/29/18
Update (6:11 PM) - I'm keeping with my original FanDuel lineup tonight as I just really like this lineup and there hasn't been any additional breaking updates that warrant in my eyes a change! Good Luck!
We have a 9-game slate for Monday, October 29th and let’s take a look at the games, key injuries, and our initial FanDuel lineup.
This is just my initial lineup based on the information we have available in the morning. Injuries play a huge roll in our DFS lineups so please come back later! If it’s a real last minute update in which I don’t have time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!
7:00pm – Atlanta vs. Philadelphia (Spread: PHI -11; O/U 231.5)
7:00pm – Portland at Indiana (Spread: IND -4.5; O/U 216.5)
7:30pm – Sacramento at Miami (Spread: MIA -9; O/U 225)
7:30pm – Brooklyn at LA New York (Spread: NYK -2; O/U 216)
8:00pm – Toronto vs. Milwaukee (Spread: TOR -2; O/U 221)

8:00pm – LA Lakers at Minnesota (Spread: LAL -2; O/U 221)
8:30pm – Dallas at San Antonio (Spread: SAS -7.5; O/U 214.5)
9:00pm – New Orleans at Denver (Spread: DEN -9; O/U 229.5)
Key Injuries/Inactive Players
Anthony Davis (Elbow) – Out; Giannis Antetokounmpo (Concussion) – Out; Kawhi Leonard (Rest) – Out; Luka Doncic (Back) – GTD; Elfrid Payton (Ankle) – Out; Kris Dunn (Knee) – Out; Will Barton (Groin) – Out; Bobby Portis (Knee) – Out; John Collins (Ankle) – Out; Andrew Wiggins (Quadriceps) – GTD; Julius Randle (Foot) – GTD; James Johnson (Abdomen) – Out; Bogdan Bogdanovic (Knee) – Out; DeMarre Carroll (Ankle) – Out; Tyreke Evans (Personal) – GTD; Isaiah Thomas (Hip) – Out; Dion Waiters (Ankle) - Out; Dirk Nowitzki (Ankle) – Out; Derrick White (Heel) – Out; Fred VanVleet (Toe) - GTD
PG - Jamal Murray (DEN) - $7,200 – I love the Denver point guards tonight in both Jamal Murray & Monte Morris (we’ll get to him in a bit) as they have one of the best matchups on the slate against the New Orleans Pelicans who currently rank 28th vs. PG’s this season. Murray is sometimes hit or miss when it comes to his fantasy production however, when his shot is on, he has 50+ point upside and I’m very encouraged that he played 37 minutes agianst the Lakers in his last game in which he posted a double-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and a steal. Denver has the 4th highest implied scoring total tonight at 119.3 points and as Murray is averaging 15.4 ppg, 3.0 apg, 4.2 rpg, and 1.0 spg on the season, I see him easily hitting and surpassing his value tonight.
PG – Kyle Lowry (TOR) – 8,800 – With Kawhi Leonard being held out for rest tonight, Kyle Lowry could be in for a very high usage rate tonight, especially if Fred VanVleet misses another game due to his toe injury. Lowry has had an incredible start to his season as he comes into this match-up agianst the Milwaukee Bucks averaging 19.8 ppg, 10.3 apg, 3.7 rpg, and 1.3 spg in 34.5 mpg. Milwaukee has done a decent job agianst the PG position this season, however, both teams have been playing at a good pace and even without Leonard or Antetokounmpo playing, Toronto has an implied scoring total of 111.5. Vegas has this being a close game which means we could see 40 mins from Lowry tonight and I think he will be hitting 50 points.
SG – Jrue Holiday (NO) - $8,000 – New Orleans will be down both Anthony Davis and Elfrid Payton so we can expect to see a lot of rosters going with Jrue Holiday tonight as both Holiday and Mirotic will become the main scoring threats on a team projected to put up 110.3 points tonight. If the Pelicans plan on being competitive in this one, they’ll need Holiday who comes into this game averaging 15.4 ppg, 7.6 apg, 3.8 rpg, and 1.8 spg to have a monster game. Holiday was impressive in his three games agianst the Nuggets last season as he averaged 21.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 6.3 apg, & 1.3 spg and as the usage rate should be high for holiday tonight, I think he is almost a must own.
SG – Monte Morris (DEN) - $4,800 – As I mentioned with Jamal Murray, opposing PG’s (don’t know why they have Morris as a SG….) have dominated New Orleans this season. Morris, the former star out of Iowa State, spend most of his first season in the G-League however, looks like he is now going to be a major part of the rotation for the Nuggets as he currently is averaging 9.4 ppg, 4.4 apg, 2.8 rpg, and 1.0 spg in 21.6 minutes off the bench. Morris has his best game of his career recently against the Lakers as in 27 minutes of action, he puts up 20 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Morris does a great job of protecting the basketball as Ricky Rubio recently put up a 28-point, 12 assist, 6 rebound performance against the Pelicans, I see both Morris and Murray with big days.
SF - Nikola Mirotic (NO) - $7,300 – As I mentioned with Jrue Holiday, both Anthony Davis and Elfrid Payton will be out of the lineup for the Pelicans tonight which means if New Orleans has any shot on the road agianst the Nuggets, they’ll need Mirotic to light it up on the offensive end tonight. Mirotic has had an outstanding start to his season as the 4-year forward currently is averaging 23.8 ppg, 9.4 rpg, and 1.2 apg. Denver has been decent defensively, however, the one position they’ve struggled against is the SF position as they rank just 25th in the NBA agianst SF’s. Mirotic is shooting an incredible 53.6% from the field and 45.5% from beyond the arc this season and I think he could go for 35-40 points tonight.
SF – DeAndre’ Bembry (ATL) - $4,400 – I’m happy that DeAndre’ Bembry is starting to make a name for himself in the NBA, however, at the same time, he has been a constant sleeper play for me and I’m worried his price is going to start to go up as he continues to produce and get higher ownership. Bembry remains be a bit of Otto Porter Jr. as although he is not flashy, he seems to get it done across the board in all categories. Bembry comes into his matchup agianst the Philadelphia 76ers averaging 9.2 ppg, 2.6 apg, 5.4 rpg and 2.0 spg. Bembry has seen an average of 28.5 minutes over his last two games and had a career night recently against the Mavericks in which he had a double-double with 11 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, and 2 steals. Bembry is an excellent defensive player as we know the 76ers love to turn the ball over, I think Bembry could be seeing a 30 FanDuel point night.
PF – Pascal Siakam (TOR) -$4,400 – At the PF position tonight, I’m going to take advantage of some lower value players who should have high value tonight due to injuries/rest of their teammates. I’m going to start with Pascal Siakam who is going to be starting tonight along Serge Ibaka with Kawhi Leonard resting tonight. Siakam comes into this game averaging 8.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.3 apg and is coming off a game against the Mavericks last Friday in which he saw 37 minutes. Siakam won’t have to worry about Antetokounmpo on the offensive end which should allow him to pull down some more rebounds and if Siakam see 35+ minutes again, it’s going to hard to imagine that he doesn’t at least hit value.
PF – Ersan Ilyasova (MIL) - $4,100 – I’m staying in the TOR/MIL game as Ersan Ilyasova has a ton a value tonight as he is getting the start with Antetokounmpo out tonight. Ilyasova has been a great role player for many teams over his 10-year career and currently is averaging 7.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg, & 1.5 apg on the season. Ilyasova has been seeing about 23 minutes off the bench this season and has been productive as of late, as over his last two games, he is averaging about 27.5 FanDuel points. Ilyasova can produce in all the major offensive categories and his match-up against the Raptors is a decent one as they rank below average vs. the PF position. When it comes to Power Forward tonight, as I feel good with the rest of my lineup, I’m just hoping that either Ilyasova or Siakam have a nice game with the extra minutes they should be getting.
C – Joel Embiid (PHI) – $11,000 – There is some value at the Center position tonight, however, I wanted to pay up Joel Embiid who has been an absolute monster this season as he comes into this game averaging 29. Ppg, 12.7 rpg, 3.8 apg, & 2.3 bpg. Philadelphia has one of the highest implied scoring totals tonight at 121.3 points and we love the matchup against the Atlanta Hawks who have been giving up a ton of points this season. Embiid should be able to have his way with either Dewayne Dedmon or Alen Len and as Embiid has a usage rate over 30% this season, I think we will see a 60+ FanDuel point game out of him tonight.
