NBA – Fantasy Basketball – DraftKings Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 10/30/18
Updated (6:22 PM) - Decided to switch the lineup a bit! I decided I wanted some action in the SAC/ORL game so I know have Fournier, Vucevic, and Heid in the lineup. I'm going with Hood and Nance Jr. in Cleveland in what should be a high scoring game. I decided to go with Walker over Paul as he brings just as much upside and has had a crazy amount of usage this season and as I mentioned this morning, I love Beal at this price. Image is updated below! Good Luck!
We have an 8-game slate for Tuesday, October 30th and let’s take a look at the games, key injuries, and our initial DraftKings lineup.
This is just my initial lineup based on the information we have available in the morning. Injuries play a huge roll in our DFS lineups so please come back later! If it’s a real last-minute update in which I don’t have time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!

James Harden (Hamstring) – Out; Kevin Love (Foot) – Out; Steven Adams (Calf) – GTD; Dwight Howard (Back) – Out; John Collins (Ankle) – Out; Markieff Morris (Concussion) – GTD; James Johnson (Abdomen) – Out; Bogdan Bogdanovic (Knee) – Out; JaMychal Green (Jaw) – Out; Dion Waiters (Out) – Ankle; Fred VanVleet (Toe) – GTD; Nerlens Noel (Ankle) - Out
PG - PG – Chris Paul (HOU) - $9,300 – I’m paying up at the PG position tonight and is starts with Chris Paul in his matchup agianst the Portland Trailblazers tonight. Houston will once again be without James Harden which means that basically the entire Rockets offense will be run through Paul. Paul has a tough night from the floor in his recent game against the Clippers, however, he still has put up an impressive stat line in his first 3 games of the season as he is averaging 19.7 ppg, 8.0 apg, 6.0 rpg & 1.7 spg in 32.0 mpg. Portland has been solid defending the PG position this year, however, the Rockets really need a win here and as Paul averaged 28.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, & 7.3 apg in 4 games against the Trailblazers last season, I think he is worth the price tonight.
SG – Bradley Beal (WAS) - $6,800 – Beal has struggled with his shot in his last two games (4-17 from beyond the arc) however, how can we not roster him on DraftKings at this price point! Even with his recent struggles, Beal has yet to not score 20 points in any game this season and comes in averaging 23.5 ppg, 3.2 apg, and 4.5 rpg in 32.0 mpg. Washington doesn’t have the greatest DFS matchup agianst the slow-paced Grizzlies however, Beal should still get plenty of opportunities to get his points as he currently has a solid 26.5% usage rate. Beal has a low floor and 50+ upside on any given night and at this price, I’m not leaving off my roster.
SF – Eric Fournier (ORL) - $5,300 – If you saw what Josh Richardson did last night agianst the Kings, (31 points), you’ll understand why I want to get Eric Fournier in my lineup tonight. Fournier is the go-to scoring option in the backcourt for the Magic as he has a 26.7% usage rate and comes into this game averaging 16.2 ppg, 4.3 apg, & 2.8 rpg. Fournier has been putting up about 16 shots per game and if he is knocking down shots, can easily put up 30+ points as he did agianst the 76ers earlier this season. The Kings have been below average this season defending the SG/SF (I consider Fournier more of a SG although he does qualify for the SF position) and as the Kings play at one of the faster paces in the league, this should lead to Fournier getting plenty of shots tonight.
PF – Carmelo Anthony (HOU) - $5,300 – I didn’t think I would really roster Carmelo Anthony this season, especially at a somewhat high price, but here we are. Since James Harden has gone down, Anthony has looked like the old Carmelo Anthony as over his past two games has put up a combined 46 points (17-35 FG) in an impressive 73 minutes played. On the season, Anthony is averaging 14.2 ppg & 5.8 RPG, however, it looks like the Rockets are more than happy to give Anthony as much run as he can handle with Harden out. Portland has below average against the SF position this season, ranking 20th in the NBA and as Anthony has put up about 37.5 DraftKings points per game in his last two, I think he is worth this price tag tonight.
C – Nerlens Noel (OKC) – $4,300 – I’m from New Hampshire and I’m a little biased with Nerlens Noel as he played his High School Prep ball in Tilton which gave me the opportunity to see him a bunch before he went off in Kentucky. Noel’s NBA career hasn’t been the greatest, however, there is no doubting that he is a very productive DFS player when he sees minutes as he is averaging 1.49 DraftKings points/per minute this season. Noel went off last game agianst Phoenix in a surprise start against the Suns due to Adams injury as in just 25 minutes of action, he put up 20 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and a block for 52.75 DraftKings points. We’ll have to keep an eye on the injury report with Stephen Adams, however, if Adams can’t go, Noel will certainly be in my lineup tonight.
G – Nicolas Batum (CHA) - $5,200 – There is a ton of value on the board tonight on DraftKings and that continues with Nicolas Batum of the Charlotte Hornets. Batum is always a dangerous DFS players as this is a guy that can fill the stat sheet across the board. Batum has gotten up to a bit of a slow start this season as he is averaging just 9.4 ppg, 3.7 apg, & 6.1 rpg but the upside is there as the is averaging 34.1 minutes per game. Miami has had difficult guarding the SG position this season which Batum can qualify for as the Heat rank just 24th against the position and as Batum can easily get us 30-40 DraftKings points, his value at just $5,200 is too much to pass up on.
F – Dewayne Dedmon (HOU) - $4,800 – Dewayne Dedmon is back from his injury and has looked decent in this first three games back as he currently is averaging 9.0 ppg, 7.7 rpg, & 2.0 bpg in 21.3 mpg this season. Dedmon will be splitting time with Alex Lin this season, but it won’t be long until the big man out of USC is starting and we have to be encouraged that over his last two games, he is averaging 25 mpg. Dedmon flashed his potential against the Bulls last Saturday as he posted a stat line of 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 blocks which got him 41.25 DraftKings points. Cleveland ranks just 26th agianst the center position this season and as the Hawks play at a fast pace and this has the potential of a high scoring game, I like Dedmon tonight.
Utility – Nikola Vucevic (ORL) - $8,600 – Nikola Vucevic can be a very frustrating DFS player as he has burned me plenty of times, however, as the Magic have a nice matchup agianst the Sacramento Kings that are on the 2nd half of a back-to-back tonight, I’m going to be paying up for Vucevic tonight. Vucevic comes into this game averaging 19.2 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.0 bpg & 1.5 spg in 29.0 minutes this season and has one of his best games of his career earlier this season against the 76ers in which he had a triple-double with 27 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists & 2 steals for a whopping 70.75 DraftKings points. The Kings play at a fast pace which should lead to hopefully about 15 shots for Vucevic tonight and as I’m hoping he got his “dud” game out of the way agianst the Bucks last Saturday, I’m thinking he gets us 50-60 DraftKings points tonight.
