NBA – Fantasy Basketball – Fanduel Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 10/30/18
Update (6:18 PM) - I didn't make any changes last night but I'm making a bunch tonight. I decided that I wanted some major exposure in the SAC/ORL game so I got Evan Fournier, Buddy Hield, & Willie Cauley-Stein in the lineup. Taurean Prince has a great match-up against CLE tonight and I'm ok going with Kimba Walker over Chris Paul. We have Jeff Green at the SF who could get major minutes if Obure is out and I like that he is out "low-cost" option tonight. Image is updated below! Good Liuck
We have an 8-game slate for Tuesday, October 30th and let’s take a look at the games, key injuries, and our initial FanDuel lineup.
This is just my initial lineup based on the information we have available in the morning. Injuries play a huge roll in our DFS lineups so please come back later! If it’s a real last minute update in which I don’t have time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!

Key Injuries/Inactive Players
James Harden (Hamstring) – Out; Kevin Love (Foot) – Out; Steven Adams (Calf) – GTD; Dwight Howard (Back) – Out; John Collins (Ankle) – Out; Markieff Morris (Concussion) – GTD; James Johnson (Abdomen) – Out; Bogdan Bogdanovic (Knee) – Out; JaMychal Green (Jaw) – Out; Dion Waiters (Out) – Ankle; Fred VanVleet (Toe) – GTD; Nerlens Noel (Ankle) - Out
PG – Chris Paul (HOU) - $9,600 – I’m paying up at the PG position tonight and is starts with Chris Paul in his matchup agianst the Portland Trailblazers tonight. Houston will once again be without James Harden which means that basically the entire Rockets offense will be run through Paul. Paul has a tough night from the floor in his recent game against the Clippers, however, he still has put up an impressive stat line in his first 3 games of the season as he is averaging 19.7 ppg, 8.0 apg, 6.0 rpg & 1.7 spg in 32.0 mpg. Portland has been solid defending the PG position this year, however, the Rockets really need a win here and as Paul averaged 28.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, & 7.3 apg in 4 games against the Trailblazers last season, I think he is worth the price tonight.
PG – Kyle Lowry (TOR) – 9,000 – Lowry struggled putting up points last night against Milwaukee however, Lowry an impressive DFS performance as finishing the game with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 15 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. Lowry has been a constant force at the PG position this season as he has scored 40+ FanDuel points in 6 of his 7 games this season and currently is averaging 18.3 ppg, 11.0 apg, 4.0 rpg, 1.4 spg, & 0.9 bpg. Toronto has the 2nd highest implied point total tonight, set at 114.3 ppg, and as I don’t think Lowry will go 0-9 from beyond the arc agianst tonight and Fred VanVleet misses time agianst tonight, I think we can pencil him in for 45-50 FanDuel points.
SG – Rodney Hood (CLE) - $5,700 – It’s going to be interesting to see what Larry Drew does with the minutes for the Cavaliers now that he is the head coach but either way, I think Rodney Hood comes in at some nice value tonight in a solid match-up against the Atlanta Hawks. Hood comes into this game averaging 12.0 ppg, 1.7 apg, 2.8 rpg in 27.3 mpg and if the Cavaliers want to notch their first win of the season, they will need a solid scoring effort by Hood. Cleveland actually has the highest implied scoring total tonight set at 115.3 and will be facing a Hawks team on the 2nd half of a back-to-back. Hood is coming off his best game of the season against the Indiana Pacers, and as his 3P-FG% has nowhere to go but up (13.3% currently), I think we’re going to start seeing 20+ point scoring efforts & 30+ FanDuel point efforts from Hood soon.
SG – Dennis Schroder (OKC) - $5,200 – I know Russell Westbrook is back, however, still like Dennis Schroder for the value that he brings at this price tag. On the season, Schroder is averaging 13.0 ppg, 7.0 apg, 4.2 rpg & 1.0 spg in about 30.0 mpg. It obviously doesn’t help Schroder’s usage with Westbrook back, however, the good news is that he still sees his fair share of playing time as Billy Donavan plans on using Schroder with Westbrook during the games. Schroder has put up an average of 29.5 FanDuel points per game this year which is actually impressive concerning he is shooting just 34.1% from the field and 27.8% from beyond the arc on the season. The match-up isn’t the great against the Clippers, however, Schroder has put up about 24 FanDuel points per game since Westbrook has returned and as I think he has upside, I like him at this price.
SF – Carmelo Anthony (HOU) - $6,700 – I didn’t think I would really roster Carmelo Anthony this season, especially at a somewhat high price, but here we are. Since James Harden has gone down, Anthony has looked like the old Carmelo Anthony as over his past two games has put up a combined 46 points (17-35 FG) in an impressive 73 minutes played. On the season, Anthony is averaging 14.2 ppg & 5.8 RPG, however, it looks like the Rockets are more than happy to give Anthony as much run as he can handle with Harden out. Portland has below average against the SF position this season, ranking 20th in the NBA and as Anthony has put up about 37.5 FanDuel points per game in his last two, I think he is worth this price tag tonight.
SF – Kawhi Leonard (TOR) - $9,800 – I’m a Celtics fan so I’m not rooting for Toronto, however, I’m happy to see a healthy Kawhi Leonard back as he is just an incredible basketball player. Leonard looks like he is enjoying his time north of the boarder as in his 5 games, he is averaging 26.6 ppg, 3.0 apg, 8.0 rpg & 1.6 spg in 34.8 mpg. Leonard is shooting 50.0% from the field and 45.5% from beyond the arc on the season and should be plenty rested as he had the night off last night’s in Toronto’s first loss of the season. Philadelphia has been above average defending the SF position this season however, Leonard is a top-5 player that basically no team can contain and as the 76ers might be a little tired as they on the 2nd half of a back-to-back and had to travel last night, I think Leonard has a big game here.
PF – Larry Nance Jr. (CLE) -$6,600 – Larry Nance Jr. might not be starting still for the Cavaliers however, I don’t think there is any question that outside of Kevin Love, he has the biggest DFS upside of any Cleveland player. Nance Jr. has looked good since returning from injury that saw him miss the first two games of the season and comes into this game averaging 9.8 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 4.3 apg & 1.5 spg. Nance Jr. has averaged 25.5 mpg in his last two contests and is coming off his best performance of the season against Indiana as he went for a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, & a steal. Nance Jr. does a nice job generating steals as he has 6 of them over his last 3 games and as I think Larry Drew with give Nance Jr. 25-30 minutes going forward, I still think he has great value at this price.
PF – Patrick Patterson (OKC) - $3,500 – I’m putting in Patrick Patterson as my “low scoring player” of the day as he currently sits at minimum price and has some upside to generate some points. Patterson is averaging 8.0 ppg & 4.0 rpg on the season and recently loss his starting job to Jerami Grant, however, with Adams out last game and Noel getting a bit banged up late in the game, the 8-year veteran out of Kentucky saw 30 minutes of action while putting up 17 points. I’m hoping that Noel plays tonight as you’ll see shortly, however, I think Patterson is safe for about 20 minutes of play between the fact that he can get hot behind the arc and that I don’t expect to be using his score, I’ll take my chances with as my “low scoring” play tonight.
C – Nerlens Noel (OKC) – $3,900 – I’m from New Hampshire and I’m a little biased with Nerlens Noel as he played his High School Prep ball in Tilton which gave me the opportunity to see him a bunch before he went off in Kentucky. Noel’s NBA career hasn’t been the greatest, however, there is no doubting that he is a very productive DFS player when he sees minutes as he is averaging 1.58 FanDuel points/per minute this season. Noel went off last game agianst Phoenix in a surprise start against the Suns due to Adams injury as in just 25 minutes of action, he put up 20 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and a block for 55 FanDuel points. We’ll have to keep an eye on the injury report with Stephen Adams, however, if Adams can’t go, Noel will certainly be in my lineup tonight.
