NBA – Fantasy Basketball – DraftKings Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 10/31/18
We have a 7-game slate for Wednesday, October 31st and let’s take a look at the games, key injuries, and our initial DraftKings lineup.
This is just my initial lineup based on the information we have available in the morning. Injuries play a huge roll in our DFS lineups so please come back later! If it’s a real last-minute update in which I don’t have time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!
Games/Lines (As of 10:44 AM)
7:30pm – Detroit vs. Brooklyn (Spread: BKN -2.5; O/U 214)
8:00pm – Denver at Chicago (Spread: DEN -8; O/U 223)
8:00pm – Indiana at Utah (Spread: IND -6; O/U 210.5)
8:30pm – Utah at Minnesota (Spread: UTH -3; O/U 222)
10:30pm – New Orleans vs. Golden State (Spread: GSW -11.5; O/U 235.5)
10:30pm – San Antonio at Phoenix (Spread: SAS -7.5; O/U 218)
10:30pm – Dallas at LA Lakers (Spread: LAL -7.5; O/U 234)
Key Injuries/Inactive Players
Anthony Davis (Elbow) – GTD; Devin Booker (Hamstring) – Doubtful; Elfrid Payton (Ankle) – Out; Kris Dunn (Knee) – Out; Will Barton (Groin) – Out; Bobby Portis (Knee) – Out; Julius Randle (Foot) – Out; Andrew Wiggins (Quadriceps) – GTD; DeMarre Carroll (Ankle) – Out; Derrick Favors (Knee) – GTD; Isaiah Thomas (Hip) – Out; Jae Crowder (Ankle) – GTD; Isaiah Canaan (Ankle) – Out
There is still a lot of in the air at this point, especially as we wait on the status of Anthony Davis which early reports are saying that we should have an answer after the Pelicans morning shootaround. I’m staying away from the Pelicans a bit at this moment with the uncertainty but certainly will reevaluate once the injury information has been released. If Davis can’t go, the regular starts from both teams are still in play with the highest O/U on the slate, however, there is obviously some major blowout risk here.
Unlike my FanDuel lineup, I decided to go agianst LeBron so I could have a bit more a more balanced team. I still have some solid exposure on the DAL/LAL game which has the 2nd highest O/U at the moment. Both the Lakers and Mavericks have been awful agianst SG’s so I’m going with both Josh Hart (Caldwell-Pope only played 7 minutes in his last game) and Luka Doncic who is coming off a career best 31 point, 8 rebound, 4 assist performance against San Antonio. I also put in Brandon Ingram for now as he fit my price-range for the SF position and looked solid in his first game back from his suspension, putting up 38.75, and similar to the SG position, Dallas has fared much better against SF.
I wanted to get some exposure for the DEN/CHI game as we all saw how Golden State just lit up the Bulls defense last game. As of now, I got Jamal Murray in the lineup as he has averaged 37.5 mpg over his last two games, while scoring 40+ DraftKings points in both. Murray always has the ability to throw up a less than stellar game, however, he also has the upside to post 50+ points if his shot is falling. I’m not going to say that Gary Harris is the same time of player as Klay Thompson, however, we just saw Thompson lit up the Bulls at the SG position and I think Harris, who is coming off a solid 23 points, 6 rebound, 6 assist, 2 steal, 1 block performance of the Pelicans, can repeat a similar performance like that tonight.
I might look for more players from the SA/PHX game later but for now, I’m going with the value of Josh Jackson who might have to be relied on more heavily tonight if both Canaan & Booker can’t go. Jackson has shown in the past that he has some upside and this price, I’ll take a chance.
I’m going to go with Andre Drummond as although he is on the 2nd half of a back-to-back, the matchup agianst Brooklyn is too good to pass up as they rank just 24th against centers this season and Drummond put up a monster 24-point, 20 rebound game agianst them in the Pistons first game of the season. Also, from this game, I think there is major value in Ed Davis who will probably will see an uptick in mins as the Nets will need his size agianst Griffin & Drummond.
Check back later for my updated lineup!
