NBA – Fantasy Basketball – DraftKings Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 10/31/18 - UPDATED
We have a 7-game slate for Wednesday, October 31st and let’s take a look at the games, key injuries, and our initial DraftKings lineup.
This is just my initial lineup based on the information we have available in the morning. Injuries play a huge roll in our DFS lineups so please come back later! If it’s a real last-minute update in which I don’t have time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!

Key Injuries/Inactive Players
Anthony Davis (Elbow) – GTD; Devin Booker (Hamstring) – Out; Elfrid Payton (Ankle) – Out; Kris Dunn (Knee) – Out; Will Barton (Groin) – Out; Bobby Portis (Knee) – Out; Julius Randle (Foot) – Out; Andrew Wiggins (Quadriceps) – GTD; DeMarre Carroll (Ankle) – Out; Derrick Favors (Knee) – GTD; Isaiah Thomas (Hip) – Out; Jae Crowder (Ankle) – GTD; Isaiah Canaan (Ankle) – Out; Jimmy Butler (Rest) – Out; Jeff Teague (Knee) - Out
We’re making a bunch of changes from our initial lineup this morning as it looks like as of right now that, Anthony Davis is a go, both Jimmy Butler & Jeff Teague are listed as out, and both Devin Booker & Isaiah Canaan are out.
We’re going to be seeing a lot of lineups tonight that feature both Elie Okobo & Tyus Jones, who both have great value at the PG position at their min prices and we are going to roster both of them at our PG & SG positions tonight. I like the upside of Elie Okobo after he posted a stat line of 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists in 30 minutes against Oklahoma City. Okobo has an impressive usage rate of about 24% in his last game and I just like his matchup against the Spurs. Jones has a tougher matchup agianst the Jazz team, but with the amount the ball should be in his hands tonight with both Teague and Butler out and for the fact, he just has too much value to pass on. Jones will have to compete with Derrick Rose for minutes, however, Jones has shown in the past that he can put up DFS points in a hurry as he a nice 28-pont outing against the Pacers earlier this season in just 17 minutes.
I promise that the lineup gets better later, however, as for now, we are going with another value pick in E’Twaun Moore for the Pelicans who have the highest over/under on the slate. I actually like Moore better with Anthony Davis in the lineup as I think this opens up some more wide open looks. Moore is shooting a solid 51.6% from the field this season and as New Orleans will need a bunch of points tonight, I think Moore can get us 30+ points.
I wanted to get more exposure to the NO/GSW game and I’m going with Draymond Green at the PF position in what I feel is a reasonable price at $6,700. Green lives for matchups against the best and he’ll get his wish tonight with Anthony Davis. Green is averaging 7.4 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 8.1 apg, & 2.3 spg this season and as this should be a high scoring game, I think Green is going to notch his first triple-double of the season.
I needed to get some exposure to the DEN/CHI game, especially after we saw what Golden State did to the Bulls defense recently, and way not spend up for Nikola Jokic. The Bulls don’t have anyone in their front court that can remotely challenge the Joker, especially with Bobby Portis injured. Jokic is averaging 21.5 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 6.8 apg, 1.2 spg, & 1.0 bpg and I think he is going to register a monster triple-double tonight.
On FanDuel, I couldn’t get Tyus Jones in my lineup as I felt it was a must tonight to get Stephen Curry in my lineups. Luckily on DraftKings, I’m able to use my Guard spot for the sharpshooter is has kicked off his 2018-19 season looking like an MVP. New Orleans currently ranks 30th in the NBA vs. PG and have no one that can stop Curry. Curry put up 49.0 FanDuel points in just 24 minutes against the Bulls on Monday and I think he’ll go of for 65-70 points tonight.
I’m going to continue to roll with the Suns for value tonight as I’m staying with Josh Jackson as he just has too much upside with the usage he should see tonight at $4,700. Jackson showed us last year the he does have some upside and he is in a good spot against a Spurs defense that just hasn’t been very good this season.
Rounding out the team tonight, I’m spending up on Rudy Gobert of the Jazz. Gobert has had plenty of success agianst Karl-Anthony Towns over his career and has had a monster season so far as he is averaging 17.7 ppg, 13.5 rpg, 2.7 bpg, & 1.5 spg. Towns is a great offensive player, however, he defense is not that great and as Minnesota has given up 120+ points in each of the last two games (w/ Jimmy Butler), I think the Jazz and Gobert are in for a good night.
