I’m going to have to start off my lineup in this morning with putting in Derrick Rose (PG) after the former MVP put up a monster performance on Wednesday in which he dropped a 63.8 FanDuel point performance with a 50-point, 6 assist, 4 rebounds, 1 block, & 1 steal performance agianst the Jazz. Rose ended up in the perfect situation as Minnesota went into the game knowing Jeff Teague and Jimmy Butler wasn’t going to play and then Tyus Jones was a late scratch with a foot injury. Minnesota and Rose have the highest O/U on the slate today in their match-up agianst the Warriors that rank 14th vs. PG and with the prospects of both Teague and Jones not being able to go again, make Rose almost a must play.
We’re going with Ricky Rubio (PG) tonight as with Donovan Mitchell has already been listed as out which means Rubio and some of the other Jazz while have to make up for his high usage rate. Rubio comes into this game averaging 9.0 ppg, 7.1 apg, 2.7 rpg & 1.1 spg and although his offense is as inconsistent as anyone in the league, he certainly can go off for big nights as we saw recently against the Pelicans in which he posted a state line of 28 points, 12 assists, & 6 rebounds. Rubio saw more usage last season when Mitchell was out and as I think he’ll be looking for a shot a bit more tonight, I think he has decent value at this price.
As of right now, I’m paying up at the SG position and it starts with Tim Hardaway Jr. (SG) of the New York Knicks in his matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Hardaway Jr. is the main offensive weapon for the Knicks and comes into this game averaging 26.0 ppg, 3.3 apg, & 3.0 rpg in 33.4 mpg this season. Dallas ranks 29th against the SG position and we love the fact that Hardaway Jr. has been averaging 28.6 ppg over his last three games while getting up an average of about 20.0 shots per game. Hardaway Jr has about 30.0% usage rate of the Knicks and if his shot is falling tonight, could have a 50 FanDuel point night.
Victor Oladipo (SG) is showing everyone that last year was not a fluke as the 5-year veteran out of Indiana comes into this game averaging 22.0 ppg, 4.4 apg, 5.9 rpg & 1.5 spg in 32.8 mpg. Oladipo is always an exciting DFS player to roster as he always has the upside for a huge night with his ability to produce in all of the offensive categories. Oladipo will up against a Bulls team that ranks 29th in team defense this season and we also love the fact that Oladipo is putting up more shots per game (18.4) than any other point of his career.
I’m going back to Utah and going to roster Joe Ingles (SF) as I think he is going to be the biggest benefactor on the offensive end for the Jazz with Donovan Mitchell out. Ingles is having a productive season for the Jazz as he is currently putting up 14.4 ppg, 4.3 apg, 5.1 rpg & 1.7 spg. Ingles should see his usage rate (18.6%) move up tonight with Mitchell out and that in itself, doesn’t scare me away from Ingles going agianst a Memphis team that ranks 6th vs. the SF position. Ingles started off the season on a tear, as he posted an average of 40+ FanDuel points over his first two games and if Ingles can get hot from beyond the arc, I think he can get us another 40+ FanDuel points tonight.
Royce O’Neale (SF) is going to be my “low scoring” play of the day as although I don’t expect a big game out of him, O’Neale should be able to see some additional minutes with Mitchell out. O’Neale has been averaging between 16-18 minutes over his last 4 games and showed last year when he was getting major minutes due to some Jazz injuries, that he could go off for a 25-30 FanDuel point night.
How good has Pascal Siakam (PF) been for the Raptors as of last as the 2-year man out of New Mexico State continued his recent run of solid play with a 15 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assist, 3 steal performance agianst the 76ers this past Tuesday. Siakam has been seeing between 33-37 minutes of action over the last three games and although that number might go down a bit with both Kawhi Leonard & OG Anunoby, it’s hard not to imagine that Siakam hasn’t earned himself a bigger role in the Raptors rotations.
With Bobby Portis out with a knee injury, it’s opened the door for Wendell Carter Jr. (PF) to see some additional minute and the 7th overall pick out of Duke is certainly taking advantage of it as he is coming off his best game as a pro as he put up 25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, & 3 steals in 38 minutes agianst the Nuggets on Wednesday. I don’t think we can trust on Carter Jr. getting that type of time going forward, however, I like how the rookie seems like he is getting more confidence on the offensive end as he has put up a combined 34 shots in his last two games and I think his upside make him worth the price despite the tough matchup against Indiana.
At the Center position tonight, we’re going to be paying up for Houston’s Clint Capela (C) who has a great matchup agianst the Brooklyn Nets who come into this game ranked just 25th against the Center position. Capela is having a solid season to date as he comes into this game averaging 14.7 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 1.7 apg & 1.8 bpg on 34.0 mpg. I’m actually hoping that Harden plays tonight as I think he Capela has more upside with Harden on the court as they work really well together off the pick and roll. Capela has registered at least 1 block in every game this season and as I just don’t see anyone on the Nets being able to slow Capela, I think he is in for a good night.
