NBA – Fantasy Basketball – Fanduel Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 11/5/18
Update (5:58 PM) - As I still don't have any update on Tim Hardaway Jr., I'm switching some things around. As I'm fully expecting that the MEM/GSW game to be a blowout, I think we have some opportunity for some value plays that will see some time. I'm going with Shelvin Mack who is averaigng 30+ FanDuel points a game over his last three games and also has seen plenty of playing time. I decided to pay up for Dotson for the Knicks as he has that good matchup against Chicago an even if Hardaway Jr. plays, he'll still see 30+ min. With the NO/OKC game having such a high O/U, I decided that Moore was a better play than Stanley Johnson even with Bullock looking doubtful. My punt play is with Alfonzo McKinnie as he could see plenty of minutes with Iguodala not playing tonight and if the Warriors blowout Memphis as expected. Everything is the same and I've updated the Image below! Good Luck.
We have a 9-game slate for Monday, November 5th and let’s take a look at the games, key injuries, and our initial FanDuel lineup.
This is just my initial lineup based on information we have available in the morning. Injuries play a huge role in our DFS lineup so please check back later! If I have to make a real last minute update due a late injury or a starting lineup change in which I don’t have the time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!

PG – Ricky Rubio (UTH) - $6,300
PG – Russell Westbrook (OKC) - $12,000
SG – Victor Oladipo (IND) - $9,100
SG – Allonzo Trier (NYK) - $3,900
SF – Stanley Johnson (DET) - $4,600
SF – Mario Hezonja (NYK) - $3,600
PF – Jerami Grant (OKC) - $4,900
PF – Anthony Davis (NO) - $11,800
C – Bam Adebayo (MIA) - $3,800
There are a lot of GTD’s we’ll have to monitor later today, however, there is certainly some decent value on the board which will allow us to pay up at certain spots.
Starting off the team, we’re going with the Utah’s Ricky Rubio (PG) as we should once against seen an uptick in his usage rate with Donovan Mitchell out with an ankle injury. We were in the same scenario the other night and faded Rubio which was mistake as he had a 22 points, 11 assist performance agianst the slow paced Memphis Grizzlies. Rubio has an inconsistent shot, however, the upside is there with the amount the basketball should be in his hands tonight and although the Raptors have been good against opposing PG’s, Rubio is a solid play tonight as Vegas has this game being close and the Raptors are on the 2nd half of a back-to-back.
Russell Westbrook (PG) is expensive at $12,000 however, you couldn’t ask for a better matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans who rank 30th in the NBA vs. opposing PG’s. Westbrook looks completely healed from a knee injury that caused him to miss a few games at the beginning of the season as he comes into this matchup averaging 25.3 ppg, 8.8 apg, 8.5 rpg, and 2.3 spg. Westbrook is putting up 20+ shots a game this season and is currently shooting at a very impressive 50.4% from the field. Oklahoma City has the highest implied scoring total on the slate today at 120.3 and I think we’re going to see a triple-double out of Westbrook tonight.
I paid of for Russell Westbrook and I’m going to continue to spend my salary as I’m going with Indiana’s Victor Oladipo (SG) in his matchup agianst the Houston Rockets. Oladipo has been on fire as of late as he has averaged 52.6 FanDuel points over his last two games against Chicago & Boston and he comes into this game averaging 22.5 ppg, 4.3 apg, 7.3 rpg, & 1.7 spg. Oladipo should come into this game with a bunch of confidence after hitting the game winning three against the Celtics on Saturday and between the fact that Rockets rank 26th in defensive efficiency against the SG position and that Oladipo should have James Harden on him times, I see another 50+ FanDuel point performance by Oladipo.
I’m going with the Knicks Allonzo Trier (SG) as of right now on the basis that Tim Hardaway Jr. doesn’t play tonight due to a back injury that he suffered in yesterday’s game against the Wizards. Trier has been a staple off the bench for the Knicks this season as he is averaging 21.5 mpg and has been a solid source of offense for the Knicks as he is averaging 10.6 ppg, 2.6 rpg, & 1.1 apg. Trier recently dropped back-to-back 20+ FanDuel point outings agianst the Pacers and Mavericks and you have to like the matchup agianst the Bulls who rank 25th agianst the SG position.
Stanley Johnson (SF) hasn’t been the player that the Pistons were expecting after using the 8th overall pick on him in the 2015 draft, however, I like his potential tonight as he looks like he will be getting the start due to an injured Reggie Bullock who although is a GTD right now, looks doubtful to play. Johnson comes into this game averaging just 7.1 ppg, 1.6 apg, & 4.6 rpg on the season but we have to like the upside he has considering has received 30+ minutes in each of his last three games. Johnson is a risk, however the Heat are ranked just 26th against the SF position and if Johnson can get us around 25 FanDuel points, he’ll be worth the risk tonight.
I’m going with value at both SF spots as of right now as I have the Knicks Mario Hezonja (SF) going tonight agianst the Bulls. Similar to Allonzo Trier, this place is currently on the basis that Tim Hardaway Jr. is out of the lineup tonight. Hezonja minutes have been pretty inconsistent however, we have to be encouraged with his performance yesterday as in 25 minutes against the Wizards, he put up 10 poitns, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. I don’t expect Trier or Super Mario to both have big games, but the matchup agianst the Bulls is good and if Hardaway Jr. isn’t going to be in the lineup, I think there is upside with both plays knowing I can drop one of my scores.
I’m going back to the NO/OKC matchup and going with the Thunder’s Jerami Grant (PF) who has clearly taken over the PF duties for the Thunder. Grant comes into this game averaging 10.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.6 apg, & 1.3 bpg on the season and is coming off one of his best games of his career as he dropped a 22 point, 4 rebound, 4 assist, & 3 steal performance agianst the Wizards last Friday. Grant is basically averaging 5x value and has he has some upside with his ability to pick up steals & blocks, I like him tonight at just $4,900.
I must say I love the fact that I already have Westbrook & Oladipo and that I’m still able to spend up at this point for the Pelicans Anthony Davis (PF). Davis has been a bit banged up as of late but did play last Saturday and is probably for tonight. Davis is arguably the best player in the league and comes into this game averaging 23.8 ppg, 12.2 rpg, 4.8 apg, 3.5 bpg, & 2.0 spg. Davis has already put up 3 games of 65+ FanDuel points, including an 80.2 point performance against Houston earlier this season and as this has all the makings of a high scoring, tight game, I want Davis in my lineup tonight.
I hate that I’m not going to be able to put in Boban Marjanovic but to pay up for Davis, I didn’t have pretty much any salary left for the Center position. Luckily for us, with Hassan Whiteside already ruled out of tonight’s game agianst the Pistons, we are going to be able to go with Bam Adebayo (C) at the very affordable price of just $3,800. Adebayo is averaging 6.8 ppg & 6.8 rpg this season in about 19.3 minutes per game, however, as he should be seeing 30+ minutes tonight as the Heat will need his size agianst Drummond & Griffin, I think he can get us 25-30 FanDuel points and easily hit value tonight.
