NFL - Thursday Night (8:20 PM) - Carolina at Pittsburgh - DraftKings Lineup For 11/8/18
DFS – Fantasy Football – DraftKings NFL Sunday Night– CAR & PIT – 11/8/18
We have an outstanding matchup tonight with the Carolina Panthers & Pittsburgh Steelers facing off at Heinz Field this Thursday night.
Let’s checkout who we have going tonight for our DraftKings Lineup!
MVP – Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) - $15,500 – Big Ben has really only put up one monster game this season (Week 2 vs. KC) however, the veteran QB has been solid this season as he comes into this game with completing 64.5% of his passes for 16 TD & 7 INT while averaging 320.0 passing yds/g. This is a decent matchup for Roethlisberger as the Panthers haven’t been anything outstanding agianst the pass this season as they rank just 19th in passing yards allowed (250.6 yds/g) and T-24th in passing TD’s allowed (17). Carolina has been awful defensively in the red zone this year and as they’ll have to keep a close eye on Conner, I think this opens up the opportunity for Big Ben a big night.
FLEX – James Conner (PIT) - $16,000 – How can you not continue to root for James Conner to absolutely dominate while Le’Veon Bell continues to be a major headache for the Steelers. Conner has exceeded everyone expectations this season as he comes into this game with 9 rushing TD’s while averaging 88.3 rushing yds/g. Conner has also gotten it down in the receiving game as he has 38 receptions for 379 yards (47.4 yds/g) and a TD. Conner has rushed for 100+ yards in each of his last 4 games and just put up 163 total yards (107 rushing; 56 receiving) and a TD vs. Baltimore who entered last week as the top-rated rushing defense in the NFL. Conner has averaged 22 rush attempts in each of the last 4 games and as he should once again have a heavy workload tonight.
FLEX – JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT) - $12,500 – JuJu Smith-Schuster is having an outstanding season as the 2nd year man out of USC comes into this game with 2 TD’s while averaging 84.0 yd/g on 6.6 rec/g. As we’ve mentioned with Big Ben, the Panthers have struggled more in the passing game this season and especially in the red zone. Brown has gotten the majority of Ben Ben’s TD passes, however, it’s only time that JuJu starts hauling in TD’s as Roethlisberger has targeted Smith-Schuster in the red zone more than any other receiver in the NFL. Smith-Schuster provides a little bit of salary relief compared to Brown and as I think Big Ben is going to throw for at least two TD’s tonight, I think Smith-Schuster will come away from this game with at least 1 TD tonight.
FLEX – Devin Funchess (CAR) - $8,000 – As I think Carolina will be playing from behind tonight and that Pittsburgh is going to focus on slowing down Christian McCaffery and Greg Olsen, I’m going to hope for some productive games from the Carolina WR’s, starting with Devin Funchess. Funchess comes into this game as the top WR for the Panthers and has 36 receptions on the season for 445 yards and 3 TD’s. Pittsburgh has been below average defending the pass this season as they rank just 21st in the NFL in passing defense, allowing 257.6 passing yds/g. Funchess has seen about 7 targets per game over the Panthers last 5 games and I think he is going a good chance finding the end zone as the Steelers have allowed 17 TD passes this year.
FLEX – Curtis Samuel (CAR) - $7,500 – Curtis Samuel doesn’t get a lot of opportunities, however, the 2nd year man out of Ohio State has made the most with his opportunities as he does have 3 TD’s on the season (2 receiving; 1 rushing) and has shown his ability to break off big plays. Samuel comes into this game with just 8 receptions for 106 yards on the season however, he has been targeted a bit more as of late. Carolina has also not been hesitant to used Samuel in the ground game here and there and after his 33-yard TD run in which I feel he made every Tampa Bay player miss last week, I won’t be surprised if the Panthers don’t try to get the ball in his hands a bit more going forward.
FLEX – Jesse James (PIT) - $2,400 – I need to get one value pick in there and as I have Big Ben as my MVP, I might as well get another Steelers receiver in the lineup. Jesse James looks as if he is the number 2 TE behind Vance McDonald, however, James is still seeing the playing field as he has seen 13 targets over the last three weeks and is coming off a 2 reception, 53-yard game agianst Baltimore last week. Carolina ranks dead last in the NFL against opposing TE’s and although James is a bit of a long shot, I don’t mind rolling the dice with him tonight in this solid matchup.
