MVP – James Conner (PIT) - $16,000 – How can you not continue to root for James Conner to absolutely dominate while Le’Veon Bell continues to be a major headache for the Steelers. Conner has exceeded everyone expectations this season as he comes into this game with 9 rushing TD’s while averaging 88.3 rushing yds/g. Conner has also gotten it down in the receiving game as he has 38 receptions for 379 yards (47.4 yds/g) and a TD. Conner has rushed for 100+ yards in each of his last 4 games and just put up 163 total yards (107 rushing; 56 receiving) and a TD vs. Baltimore who entered last week as the top-rated rushing defense in the NFL. Conner has averaged 22 rush attempts in each of the last 4 games and as he should once again have a heavy workload tonight, I’m putting him in my MVP spot.

FLEX – Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) - $15,500 – Big Ben has really only put up one monster game this season (Week 2 vs. KC) however, the veteran QB has been solid this season as he comes into this game with completing 64.5% of his passes for 16 TD & 7 INT while averaging 320.0 passing yds/g. This is a decent matchup for Roethlisberger as the Panthers haven’t been anything outstanding agianst the pass this season as they rank just 19th in passing yards allowed (250.6 yds/g) and T-24th in passing TD’s allowed (17). Carolina has been awful defensively in the red zone this year and as they’ll have to keep a close eye on Conner, I think this opens up the opportunity for Big Ben to have a solid night.

FLEX – JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT) - $12,500 – JuJu Smith-Schuster is having an outstanding season as the 2nd year man out of USC comes into this game with 2 TD’s while averaging 84.0 yd/g on 6.6 rec/g. As we’ve mentioned with Big Ben, the Panthers have struggled more in the passing game this season and especially in the red zone. Brown has gotten the majority of Ben Ben’s TD passes, however, it’s only time that JuJu starts hauling in TD’s as Roethlisberger has targeted Smith-Schuster in the red zone more than any other receiver in the NFL. Smith-Schuster provides a little bit of salary relief compared to Brown and as I think Big Ben is going to throw for at least two TD’s tonight, I think Smith-Schuster will come away from this game with at least 1 TD tonight.

FLEX – D.J. Moore (CAR) - $8,000 – I think Carolina will be playing from behind in this one which will open the door for us to save some salary on the less expensive Carolina WR’s and we’ll start with D.J. Moore. Moore was a disappointment in a solid matchup agianst Tampa Bay last week, however, the rookie out of Maryland still has had a productive rookie season as he comes in with 19 receptions for 297 yards and a TD. Prior to last week’s game agianst Tampa Bay, Moore saw an average of about 5 targets a game in his previous 4 games which included a 5 catch, 90-yard performance against Baltimore in Week 8. I think Pittsburgh will focus in on McCaffery and Olsen which hopefully will open up Moore for a big game.

FLEX – Curtis Samuel (CAR) - $7,500 – Curtis Samuel doesn’t get a lot of opportunities, however, the 2nd year man out of Ohio State has made the most with his opportunities as he does have 3 TD’s on the season (2 receiving; 1 rushing) and has shown his ability to break off big plays. Samuel comes into this game with just 8 receptions for 106 yards on the season however, he has been targeted a bit more as of late. Carolina has also not been hesitant to used Samuel in the ground game here and there and after his 33-yard TD run in which I feel he made every Tampa Bay player miss last week, I won’t be surprised if the Panthers don’t try to get the ball in his hands a bit more going forward. Pittsburgh ranks just 21st in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game and as I mentioned under D.J. Moore, as I think Carolina will be playing from behind and will need to pass the ball, I think it will open up a few additional opportunities for Samuel tonight.

Good Luck.
