NBA – Fantasy Basketball – DraftKings Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 11/9/18
Update (6:27 PM) - Made some minor changes. Decided to go with Wiggins at SF as he was a little safer than Bjlecia. To afford that I replaced Justise Winslow with Otto Porter Jr. Image updated below. Good Luck!
We have a 7-game slate for Friday, November 9th and let’s take a look at the games, key injuries, and our initial DraftKings lineup.

If I have to make a real last-minute update due a late injury or a starting lineup change in which I don’t have the time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!

On FanDuel I was able to put in Kemba Walker however, on DraftKings, I think there is just more value with De’Andre Fox (PG) at his price-point. As you will see as you go through this team, I’m loading up on the MIN/SAC game tonight and I think it starts with Fox who comes into this game averaging 18.7 ppg, 7.3 apg, 4.4 rpg & 1.2 spg. Fox has nice match-up against a Minnesota Timberwolves team that ranks just 15th in DEFF & 25th in DPRM vs. PG’s this season. Fox has showed the ability to put up a big game with his 31-point, 15 assist, 10 rebound game agianst the Hawks a little over a week ago although we can’t expect those numbers, I do think Fox has a big game tonight an easily hits value.
Derrick Rose (PG) is reminding us how good he once was, and you have to love the chip on his shoulder he is playing with right for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Rose has been seeing major minutes at the PG position with Jeff Teague out with a knee injury and he has taken full advantage of them, including that 50-point game he dropped on Utah. Over his last two games, Rose has combined for 52 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists and has seen average of 36.0 mpg. Rose hasn’t been shy about putting shots up as he had 37 shot attempts in those two games as between the fact that the MIN/SAC has the highest O/U and that the Kings rank just 28th in DRPM, I think Rose is an obvious play tonight.
I continue with players from the MIN/SAC game and will be taking a chance on Nemanja Bjelica (SF). Bjelica was putting up some monster games for the Kings earlier this season and although he disappeared over his last two games, I think he is a prime spot to bounce tonight. Bjelica is going up agianst his former team which should give him plenty of motivation to put in a good performance and even with the two poor performances, is averaging 13.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.8 apg & 1.5 spg this season. The matchup is solid for Bjelica as the Timberwolves rank just 26th in DEFF & 15 in DPRM agianst the position, I think Bjelica puts up 40+ DraftKings points tonight.
Taj Gibson (PF) doesn’t get as much credit as some of the other Minnesota starts, however, the 9-year veteran continues to produce as he comes into this game averaging 11.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.4 apg & 1.3 spg. Gibson has been getting about 28.0 mpg and has put up 10+ shots in 3 of his last 4 games. Gibson has averaged about 38 DraftKings points over his last two games and as this is the matchup I want as much exposure as I can get, I think Gibson has some of the best value tonight at his $4,900 price tag.
Outside of going against the 76ers, Andre Drummond (C) has been an absolute monster this season as he comes into his match-up against the Hawks averaging 18.9 ppg, 16.6 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.3 bpg & 1.0 spg. Drummond has combined for 48 points and 43 rebounds over his two games and I think he is heading for another monster performance against the Hawks who rank just 20th in DEFF & 25th in DRPM vs. the Center position. It’s hard to expect another 20-20 game out of Drummond but I think he more than realistic if the Hawks can keep this one close.
Buddy Hield (SG) is having his best season as a pro as the 2nd year guard out of Oklahoma comes into this game averaging 20.1 ppg, 2.6 apg, & 5.6 rpg. Hield has a nice matchup agianst the Timberwolves who rank just 28th in DRPM vs. SG and we love the fact that Hield has been putting up an average of about 17 shots per game over his last 5 contests. Going forward, we’ll have to keep more of an eye on Bogdanovic who might take away some of Hield’s minutes, however, as Bogdanovic has already been ruled out tonight, I’m going to take Hield who should be seeing a lot of action tonight.
Justise Winslow (SF) has started to show why he was such a high draft pick in the 2015 draft. Winslow has seen 30+ minutes in each of his last 4 games and has put together some solid stat lines, including a 15 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assist, 2 blocks, & 2 steals performance agianst Atlanta last Saturday. Winslow has starting to look for his offense a bit more as has put up double-digit shots attempts in each of his last 3 games, including 17 shots this past Wednesday agianst the Spurs, and as Winslow is able to fill up the stat sheets in a variety of ways, I think he had some nice value at this price point.
I’m staying in the IND/MIA game and getting some value with the Heat’s Wayne Ellington (SG). Miami has been hit hard with injuries, especially at the wing position, which has opened up a great opportunity for Ellington. Ellington saw a solid 37 minutes in the Heat’s last game agianst the Spurs and played well as he put up 20 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Ellington probably will see a heavy workload once again tonight and for just the $3,700 is worth the risk.
