NBA – Fantasy Basketball – Fanduel Lineup, Picks, & Advice – 11/17/18
UPDATED (6:17 PM) - A lot of injury news as the day has gone on so I've made some changes. I'm punting Antonio Blakeney who should get plenty of shots up with LaVine out and put in Jarari Parker who should have a major role in the Chicago offense tonight. I love the Siakam & Ibaka combo with Lenonard out and decided to go with Cory Joseph at PG as he got 30 min last night and Oladipo might be out tonight. Image updated below. Good Luck!
We have an 9-game slate for Saturday, November 17th and let’s take a look at our initial FanDuel lineup.
This is just my initial lineup based on information we have available in the morning. Injuries play a huge role in our DFS lineup so please check back later! If I have to make a real last-minute update due a late injury or a starting lineup change in which I don’t have the time to update the website, I’ll post it on my Twitter (@BrettCU05) so make sure you hit that “follow” button!
Going to go with a bit of a safer lineup today as my initial lineup I feel is pretty solid and good for the 50/50’s today.
At the PG position, we’re going to start off with Lonzo Ball (PG) as he obviously gets a bump in value with Rajon Rondo out of the lineup with a broken hand. Ball comes into this game averaging 8.7 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 4.8 apg & 1.2 spg in 26.1 mpg, however, with Rondo out, I’m expecting us to see Ball see 30+ minutes consistently. Obviously, Ball can struggle with his shot, however, the good thing with Lonzo is that even if he is struggling with his shot, he can do enough in the other categories to have a productive DFS night.
We’re getting some value with J.J. Barea (PG) as the Dallas he been utilizing their back-up PG more as of late and he has produced as he comes into with 3 straight games of 24.5+ FanDuel points. Barea comes into this game averaging 9.6 ppg, 5.8 apg, 2.3 rpg and has a solid 28.7% usage rate when he is on the court. The Warriors rank just 27th in DRPM against opposing PG’s and as I expect to see about 20-25 minutes from Barea tonight, I think he can hit value.
DEN/NO has the highest O/U on the slate tonight and I don’t mind targeting some of the cheaper DEN plays as NO is on the 2nd half of a back-to-back and allow a ton of points. Monte Morris (SG) has been a great find for the Nuggets this season as he comes into this game averaging 8.7 ppg, 3.9 apg, & 2.5 rpg and although he’ll be back coming off the bench tonight (got the start last night due to J. Murray breaking team rules) which is a better fit for Morris in the DFS world as he plays a much bigger role in the 2nd unit.
It just feels like a game in which Devin Booker (SG)is going to break out. Booker comes into this game averaging 23.3 ppg, 6.9 apg, 3.8 rpg, & 1.1 spg and has a great matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder who rank 24th in DEFF & 27th in DRPM. Booker has struggled with his shot a bit as he is shooting just 38.9% from the field and 30.6% from beyond the arc in his last 5 games, however, he is still the focal point of the Phoenix offense who you know will get at least 15 shots tonight. Booker always has the upside to go off for a big night at just $7,700, I think he has too much value to pass up on tonight.
The Golden State Warriors are going to be without Curry & Green tonight which means Kevin Durant (SF) is going to have to do the heavy lifting for the Warriors who will be looking to bounce back after an ugly loss to Houston. Durant comes into this game averaging 27.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg, & 7.2 rpg and you have to feel that he is going to try and have a statement game tonight against the Mavericks who rank just 27th in DRPM.
I’m still kicking myself for not having Juancho Hernangomez (SF) in my lineup for FanDuel the other night as he was in my initial lineup however, I switched him out before tip-off and in true DFS fashion, he goes off for 39.3 FanDuel Points. Hernangomez has seen over 30+ minutes on average in his last three games and although we can’t expect him to play a major role in the offense, he does have the ability to go up for 20+ point games as we’ve seen twice this season. As Hernangomez’s price is still very reasonable at just $4,100 I think he makes a solid “punt” play agianst tonight in what should be a high-scoring matchup agianst the Pelicans.
As of right now, I’m going to keep an eye on the status of Kawhi Leonard as although the Raptors are thin at the SF spot at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes a seat tonight after playing 42 minutes last night in an OT loss agianst the Celtics. Pascal Siakam (PF) & Serge Ibaka (PF) have had very nice seasons for the Raptors and have shown to both play well with Leonard off the court as they combined for over 90 DraftKings points earlier this season agianst the Lakers. The Bulls rank just 28th in DEFF & 29th in DRPM vs. PF’s this season and as I think they will play a major role in this one, I think they both have great value at their current price points.
Nikola Vucevic (C) has burned me many times over my years of playing DFS, however, I’m going with the big man out of Orlando tonight as I really like his matchup agianst the Lakers who rank 27th in DEFF & 24th in DRPM. Vucevic comes into this game averaging 18.8 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.1 bpg, & 1.1 spg. Vucevic has 60+ FanDuel point upside in this match-up and as he is averaging over 16 spg this season, I think he is line for a big night tonight.
Please remember to check back later for updates!
