DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA DraftKings Initial Thoughts – 11/30/18
Update (6:41 PM) - Hi Everyone! Updates have been made and the image is updated. Good Luck!
Here is my initial lineup for today’s NBA DraftKings “Main” contest that starts at 7:00pm
As always, as our lineups will be adjusted throughout the day based on injury updates, I’ll will update the lineup around 6:30pm tonight.
I’m starting off our lineups with what I hope will be some solid value at the PG/SG spot in both Elie Okobo and Tim Frazier.
I’m still kicking myself not getting Okobo in my lineup on Wednesday as I took a long look after Canaan was released but didn’t pull the trigger. Okobo got a solid 31 minutes of action after not seeing the floor his previous 7 games and as he showed earlier this season, has the ability to put up a decent game as he had a stat line of 19 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assits, and 3 steals agianst the Clippers. Orlando isn’t the worst matchup for Okobo tonight as they rank just 24th in DEFF vs. opposing PG’s this season.
It feels like every year that when Tim Frazier gets an opportunity that he takes full advantage of it and that was once agianst the case last Wednesday as after drawing a surprise start due to an injury to Frank Jackson, Frazier ended up with a monster 42.5 DraftKings point performance (12 pts, 6 reb, 12 ast, 2 stl). If Frazier is going to get those type of minutes tonight in that high-scoring NO offense, you better believe he is going to be on my team.
Josh Richardson is having a career season with the Heat as he comes into this matchup averaging 20.5 ppg, 3.3 apg, 4.2 rpg & 1.3 spg. Richardson is looking for his shot more than ever this season as he is putting up 16 shots per game and has picked up his defensive stats as of late as over his last 5 games, he is averaging 2 steals per game. Richardson has the great matchup agianst the Pelicans tonight which should see a solid amount of points.
I currently have JaMychal Green in my lineup as not only does has have the good matchup agianst the Brooklyn Nets, Marc Gasol is currently questionable against the Nets due to a foot injury. Green has seen 27+ minutes in two of his last three games as he seems fully back from a jaw injury earlier in the season and as the matchup is so good, I’ll consider putting him in even if Gasol is able to go.
I expect Joel Embiid to have another big game against a Washington team that has no one that will be able to slow him down as Dwight Howard is unavailable. Embiid has been a monster this season, averaging 28.0 ppg, 13.3 rpg, 3.7 apg & 2.0 bpg and as his production has been affected at all since Jimmy Butler has joined the 76ers, I’m rolling with “The Process” tonight in this great matchup.
I’m also spending up currently for James Harden as he is almost a must play if Chris Paul is out again as over his last three games, he is averaging an incredible 77.9 DraftKings points per game. Over his last five games Harden is averaging 39.0 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 12.0 apg, & 2.8 spg.
With paying up for Harden & Embiid, we’ll have to find more value and it starts with Denver’s Mason Plumlee who although is only seeing about 20 mpg off the bench for the Nuggets, as been extremely productive as of late as he has posted at least 27.0 DraftKings points over his last 4 games including a monster 44.25-point performance last week agianst Orlando. Plumlee has double-doubles in 2 of his last 3 games and has been great as a rim protector as he is averaging 2.0 bpg over his last five games.
Marcus Smart has had a disappointing fantasy season to date, however, with Jaylen Brown currently out due to injury, Smart has a bunch of upside at his current price. Smart saw 40 minutes agianst NO last Monday and although he is not much of a scorer, it’s hard to pass up on him if he is going to see this many minutes agianst a Cleveland team that has struggled defensively.
Check back later for updates.
Have a good one.
