DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Lineup – Initial Thoughts – 12/5/18
Hi Everyone! Here is my initial lineup for today’s NBA FanDuel “Main” contests that start at 7:00pm.
As I’ve been doing more lately, I’m just providing for the most part an image of the team in the morning as we generally make many chances to the lineup depending on the injury news that is released throughout the day.
On the note, I’m going to be unavailable tonight after 5:30pm due to a prior commitment so I won’t be able to release an updated lineup. Due to this, I’m making more of a 50/50 lineup as of right now which plays that I’m comfortable with as of right now going with based on the matchups.
I’m going to start off with attacking the DAL/NO matchup that has an over/under of 227.5. I’m going with the backcourt duo of Dennis Smith Jr. & Luka Doncic who both should be penciled in for 30+ minutes and have 35-point upside in what should be a high scoring matchup. New Orleans backcourt duo of Frazier/Holiday don’t offer up much on the defensive side of the ball and as the Pelicans rank just 28th in DEFF & 16th in DRPM vs. opposing PG’s, I think these two plays are solid for their price points.
I’m staying in this matchup and paying up for Jrue Holiday who is coming off his best performance of the year after going off for 32 points, 14 assists, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and a block in 42 minutes vs. the Clippers last Monday. Dallas ranks dead last in DEFF vs. SG’s and I think Holiday is in for another big offensive night.
At the other PG position, I’m playing Collin Sexton of the Cavs. Even with Hill back in the lineup, Sexton saw the floor for 31 minutes and as I expect Golden State will have this one in hand early, I think Hill won’t see the floor that much tonight as he is coming back from injury and played 30+ minutes last game. Sexton should be able to get his way with the Warriors 2nd unit and think he can hit 5x value.
Robert Covington seems to be as safe as any players in DFS as you know he is going to get 35+ minutes, hit a few threes, and rack up some nice defensive stats. Charlotte has been below average vs. opposing SF’s this season and I think Covington will once against hit at least 35 FanDuel points.
DeAndre’ Bembry has the tools to produce a monster fantasy game, similar to what we saw against the Celtics, and I’m willing to take my chances with a solid matchup vs. Washington. Bembry could be in line for some extra minutes tonight with Prince being out due to an ankle injury.
We’re going to stack both Pascal Siakam & Serge Ibaka for the Raptors tonight in their matchup vs. Philadelphia. Toronto used a smaller lineup earlier this season in a victory over the 76ers and both Siakam & Ibaka saw 30+ minutes, even with Leonard in the lineup. Philadelphia ranks just 26th in DEFF & 20th in DRPM vs. opposing PF’s and as both players had 40+ FanDuel points in the first matchup, I think they can repeat that success tonight.
Steven Adams has the great center matchup against Brooklyn tonight and as we’ve been doing all season, we basically exploit any center that is going against the Nets.
Good Luck Tonight!
