Draftkings Black Desert Championship First Round Picks 10/10/24

Draftkings picks and predictions for the first round of the 2024 Black Desert Championship.

This Thursday, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2024 Black Desert Championship. Let’s take a look at the first round of this event from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections, let’s review where the first round of the 2024 Black Desert Championship will be played.

The first round of the 2024 Black Desert Championship will be played at the Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah. The golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,371 yards.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2024 Black Desert Championship.

2024 Black Desert Championship Draftkings First Round Picks

Beau Hossler $10,000

The talented American has compiled two top 12 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at the 2024 Wyndham Championship in August. In my opinion, Beau Hossler is one of the best golfers in this week’s Black Desert Championship field. For that specific reason, I am backing Beau Hossler as a flex play for this first round PGA Tour Draftkings Showdown slate.

Justin Lower $8,200

Justin Lower arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 28 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a seventh-place finish at the 2024 Procore Championship two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s 2024 Black Desert Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Justin Lower ranks ninth in strokes gained approach, eighth in GIR (greens in regulation), 19th in strokes gained tee to green, first in birdie or better percentage, seventh in strokes gained putting, and first in total Draftkings points scored. I fully expect Justin Lower to continue his outstanding play at this week’s 2024 Black Desert Championship.

Hayden Springer $7,500

Hayden Springer has accumulated three top ten finishes in his last eight tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an eighth-place result at last week’s 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship.

Due to Hayden Springer’s quality finish at the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the tournament to see how Springer fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship, in relation to the field, Hayden Springer ranked ninth in driving distance (320.7 yards), fourth in strokes gained around the green (0.893), first in strokes putting (2.207), and fifth in scrambling (89.2%).

It is also noteworthy that Hayden Springer fired a second round 59 at the 2024 John Deere Classic in July. It was only the 13th time in the history of the PGA Tour that a score of 59 or less has been posted by a golfer in a single round.

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round (Draftkings price noted): Seamus Power $10,200: Ben Griffin $9,300: Stephan Jaeger $9,200: Ryan Fox $9,000: Lucas Glover $9,100: Chandler Phillips $7,600: David Skinns $7,100: Trey Mullinax $6,900.
