San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
June 15, 2025 7:10 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with a National League matchup featuring the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for tonight’s Giants vs. Dodgers matchup.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

Captain-Dustin May, Starting Pitcher, Los Angeles Dodgers $11,400

On Monday night, Major League Baseball presents the final game of a three-game MLB series featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres.

How are these two teams playing entering today’s National League game? The Los Angeles Dodgers arrive at the third game of this three-game series playing good baseball. The Dodgers have won four of the team’s last six games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a convincing 10-1 win over the San Diego Padres earlier this week.

Similar to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the San Francisco Giants are playing well entering today’s contest. The Giants have won eight of the team’s last ten games played this season, including a 10-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies four days ago.

Now that we have determined how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this evening’s contest. Starting pitcher Dustin May has been a solid performer for the Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitching rotation this season. Having stated that, how has the veteran pitcher performed from a statistical perspective? Let’s review May’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

In 12 starts made this season, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Dustin May has compiled a 3-4 (won-loss record), a 4.46 ERA (Earned Run Average) and a 1.31 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched) in 2025. It should also be mentioned that May has amassed 64 strikeouts while allowing 26 walks in 66.2 innings pitched this season.

More recently, in the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians last month, Los Angeles starting pitcher Dustin May pitched rather well. May pitched five quality innings while scattering four hits and two walks in the Dodgers victory over the Guardians. Additionally, in the Dodgers win over the Guardians, May accumulated a robust 23.7 Draftkings points.

In my opinion, Dustin May is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in tonight’s MLB game. With that said, I am backing Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Dustin May at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB regular season contest (Draftkings price noted): Kyle Harrison, Starting Pitcher (San Francisco Giants) $10,600: Shohei Ohtani, First Baseman (Los Angeles Dodgers) $10,200: Dominic Smith, First Baseman (San Francisco Giants) $4,600.
