This week, the PGA Tour presents Draftkings golf fans with the 2024 Hero World Challenge. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a DFS perspective.
Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s 2024 Hero World Challenge.
Where will the Hero World Challenge be played?
The 2024 Hero World Challenge played at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,449 yards.
Scottie Scheffler won the 2023 Hero World Challenge with a cumulative four round score of 20 under par.
Will the Hero World Challenge have a traditional cut after two rounds?
The 2024 Hero World Challenge features a limited field of 18 golfers. Unlike traditional tournaments, there will be no cut for this event, ensuring that all participants will compete in all four rounds.
Hero World Challenge Key Player Statistics
- Strokes Gained: Approach
- GIR (greens in regulation)

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
2024 Hero World Challenge Draftkings Picks
Scottie Scheffler $11,900
Since the beginning of March, Scottie Scheffler has played 14 tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those 14 events just mentioned, Scheffler has accumulated 12 top ten finishes, including an unbelievable six wins (2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational: 2024 Players Championship: 2024 Masters Tournament: 2024 RBC Heritage: 2024 Memorial Tournament: 2024 Travelers Championship).
In addition to his outstanding play on the PGA Tour, Scottie Scheffler secured a gold medal for the USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Golf event in August.
Scheffler also checks the box for me when it comes to previous course/event history. Since 2021, Scottie Scheffler has played the Hero World Challenge three times. In those three events just noted, Scheffler has tallied three top two finishes, including a win at the 2023 Hero World Challenge.
Justin Thomas $9,600
Justin Thomas has compiled seven top 30 finishes in his last 11 tournaments on the PGA Tours, including a second-place result at the 2024 ZOZO Championship in October.
Due to Justin Thomas’s impressive second place finish at the 2024 ZOZO Championship I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the tournament to see how Thomas fared relative to the field.
Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2024 ZOZO Championship, in relation to the field, Justin Thomas ranked third in GIR (greens in regulation-79.2%), first in bogey avoidance (1), and tenth in total birdies made (18).
Justin Thomas has posted a quality result at the Albany Golf Club in the past. More specifically, Thomas finished third at the 2023 Hero World Challenge.
Jason Day $7,500
The talented Australian has accumulated four top 23 finishes in his last five events played (PGA and DP World Tour events combined), including an eighth-place result at the 2024 BMW Australian PGA Championship two weeks ago.
Robert MacIntyre $7,100
Robert MacIntyre concluded his rookie PGA Tour season with impressive results. Let’s take a look at MacIntyre’s recent results to better shed light on my previous statement.
MacIntyre arrives at this week’s tournament on the heels of six consecutive top 25 finishes (PGA and DP World Tours combined), including a fifth-place result at the 2024 Irish Open in September.
Additional golfers I like to perform well this week (Draftkings price noted): Patrick Cantlay $10,200: Sam Burns $9,300.
