Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks: Mariners vs. Blue Jays 10/13/25

Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with an American League playoff matchup featuring the  Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for this afternoon’s Mariners vs. Blue Jays matchup.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

On Monday afternoon, Major League Baseball presents the second game of a seven-game American League playoff series featuring the Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays.

How are these two teams playing entering tonight’s MLB playoff game? The Toronto Blue Jays arrive at the second game of this seven-game series with the Seattle Mariners playing good baseball. The Blue Jays have won three of the team’s last five games played in the 2025 MLB season, including a 5-2 win over the New York Yankees five days ago.

Similar to the Toronto Blue Jays, the Seattle Mariners arrive at the second game of this American League playoff series playing quality baseball. More specifically, the Mariners have won four of the team’s last five games played this season, including a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers last week.

Captain-Logan Gilbert, Starting Pitcher, Seattle Mariners $12,200

Now that we have identified how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this afternoon’s American League playoff game. Starting pitcher Logan Gilbert has certainly been a standout performer for the Seattle Mariners this season. With that said, how has Gilbert performed from a statistical standpoint? Let’s review the veteran pitcher’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

In 25 starts made in the 2025 MLB regular season, Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert compiled a 6-6 (win-loss record), a 3.44 ERA (Earned Run Average) and a 1.03 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched) which ranks eighth in MLB. It should also be noted that Gilbert amassed 173 strikeouts while allowing only 31 walks in 131 innings pitched in 2025.

More recently, in the Seattle Mariners 8-4 win over the Detroit Tigers six days ago, Seattle pitcher Logan Gilbert pitched six quality innings while scattering four hits and no walks.

In my view, Logan Gilbert is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in this MLB playoff game. For that specific reason, I am backing Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB playoff game (Draftkings price noted): Trey Yesavage, Starting Pitcher (Toronto Blue Jays) $11,800: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., First Baseman (Toronto Blue Jays) $8,600: Randy Arozarena, Outfielder (Seattle Mariners) $7,600.
