Draftkings CFL Showdown Picks: Ottawa vs. Montreal 10/13/25

On Monday afternoon, the CFL presents Draftkings football fans with a regular season matchup between the Ottawa Redblacks and the Montreal Alouettes. Let’s take a look at this CFL game from a DFS perspective.

Prior to discussing my DFS picks for the Ottawa Redblacks vs. Montreal Alouettes game let’s review an important note regarding the rules and scoring for the single game showdown contest.

For those readers who are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single game showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single game showdown contests feel free to check out the Draftkings website.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game CFL slate. Remember, once lineups lock on the Draftkings platform you cannot swap players.

Here are my Draftkings picks for today’s Ottawa Redblacks vs. Montreal Alouettes matchup.

Draftkings CFL Showdown Picks

Davis Alexander, Quarterback, Montreal Alouettes $8,900

Montreal Alouettes quarterback Davis Alexander has been the driving force behind the Montreal Alouettes success on the offensive side of the football this season. With that said, how has the veteran signal caller performed from a statistical standpoint in 2025? Let’s examine Alexander’s relevant player data from the 2025 CFL regular season to better shed light on his overall contributions to his team.

In the five games that quarterback Davis Alexander has played for the Montreal Alouettes this season, Alexander has compiled a rather impressive 1,456 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, 95 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

More recently, in the Montreal Alouettes 38-20 victory over the Calgary Stampeders, Alouettes signal caller Davis Alexander certainly played at a high level. Let me be more specific. In the Montreal Alouettes win over the Stampeders, Alexander amassed a whopping 350 passing yards and one passing touchdown.

Looking closer at the data just presented, in the Montreal Alouettes defeat of Calgary Stampeders just mentioned, Montreal quarterback Davis Alexander tallied a robust 21.8 Draftkings points.

As I noted in the rules section above, selecting the correct players at the flex positions for a Draftkings CFL showdown lineup is absolutely vital if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) DFS contest. Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups.

What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Davis Alexander is playing at a high level this season. Having stated that, I fully expect that trend to continue in this week’s matchup with the Ottawa Redblacks.

In my view, Davis Alexander is the most likely player to post the most DFS points in this CFL regular season game. For that specific reason, I am backing Montreal Alouettes quarterback Davis Alexander as my lead flex play for this this Draftkings CFL slate.

Tyson Philpot, Wide Receiver, Montreal Alouettes $9,900

How important has wide receiver Tyson Philpot been to the Montreal Alouettes offense this season? Let’s review Philpot’s player data from this season to answer that question.

In the nine games that Tyson Philpot has played for the Montreal Alouettes in the 2025 CFL regular season, Philpot has amassed 49 receptions, 698 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns.

Additional flex plays I like to perform well this week (Draftkings price noted): Dustin Crum, Quarterback (Ottawa Redblacks) $8,500: Justin Hardy, Wide Receiver (Ottawa Redblacks) $9,300.
