The Phoenix Suns travel to Colorado for a matchup with the Denver Nuggets. Let’s take a look at this NBA game from a DFS perspective.
Before we dive into my Draftkings picks for tonight’s Suns vs. Nuggets game let’s review an important note regarding the rules for the single game showdown contests.
For those readers who are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single game showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.
If you need to review the specific rules for the single game showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.
Here are my Draftkings picks for this evening’s Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets matchup.
Draftkings Player Picks
Captain-Nikola Jokic $12,000
The 2023 NBA Finals MVP has certainly been playing at a high level in 2024. Let’s look at Jokic’s player statistics for this season to illustrate my point. Through 72 games played, Jokic has averaged 26.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, 9 assists, and 1.3 steals a game. Clearly, the data just presented indicates that Jokic is the key to the Nuggets offense.
Let’s take a look at the Nuggets game with the Phoenix Suns from earlier this season to see how Nikola Jokic fared from a statistical standpoint. In the Clippers 121-107 loss to the Suns three weeks ago, Jokic accumulated 25 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists.
In summary, I love Jokic’s chances of being the winning captain of the majority of single game showdown contests across the Draftkings platform for this one game slate.
Flex Plays
Reggie Jackson $5,400
Last week, talented Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray injured his ankle in a game with the New York Knicks. The injury has caused Murray to miss the Nuggets last two games. Denver has listed Murray as questionable for tonight’s game. My gut tells me Murray won’t be active for this game.
If Murray is indeed declared out for this evening’s game, which Denver player will see an increase in playing time? The data suggests that Nuggets point guard Reggie Jackson will likely be the Nuggets player that benefits the most from Murray’s potential absence later today.
In the Nuggets first two games played without Murray, Denver guard Reggie Jackson averaged 19 points, 6.5 assists, and 1.5 steals a game.
Additionally, Reggie Jackson will be facing a Phoenix Suns defense that has had issues containing opposing point guards recently. In the last 15 games played in the NBA, the Suns are ranked 26th in total Draftkings points allowed a game (53.69) to the point guard position.
Flex plays I like: Kevin Durant $9,600: Devin Booker $9,400: Grayson Allen $6,400: Christian Braun $4,200.
