Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with an American League matchup featuring the Texas Rangers and the Seattle Mariners. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.
Before we dive into the Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.
FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules
Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.
The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.
If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.
*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.
Here are my FanDuel picks for this Saturday’s Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners matchup.
FanDuel MLB DFS Picks
MVP-Corey Seager, Shortstop, Texas Rangers $9,200
On Saturday afternoon, Major League Baseball presents the second game of a three-game American League series featuring the Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners.
How are these two teams playing entering today’s MLB game? The Seattle Mariners arrive at the second game of this three-game series with the Texas Rangers playing below average baseball. More specifically, the Mariners have lost four of the team’s last six games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angels four days ago.
Conversely, the Texas Rangers are currently playing rather good baseball entering this evening’s game. The Rangers have won seven of the team’s last nine games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including an 8-3 win over the Atlanta Braves last week.
Now that we have determined how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our attention to today’s contest. Shortstop Corey Seager has certainly been an essential part of the Texas Rangers starting lineup this season. With that said, how has the veteran shortstop performed from a statistical perspective? Let’s examine Seager’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.
In 76 games played this season, Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager has compiled a .269 batting average, 15 home runs, 38 RBIs (runs batted in) and 44 runs scored and a .377 OBP (On Base Percentage).
More recently, in Texas Rangers 6-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs earlier this season, Texas shortstop Corey Seager played rather well. In the Rangers win over the Cubs, Seager compiled two hits, two RBIs, two runs scored and two home runs. It should also be mentioned that in the Rangers defeat of the Cubs, Seager tallied a massive 28.1 FanDuel points.
In my view, Corey Seager is the most likely player to post the most FanDuel points in tonight’s MLB game. With that said, I am rolling with Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.
Flex plays I like in this game (FanDuel price noted): Cal Raleigh, Catcher (Seattle Mariners) $16,400: Randy Arozarena, Outfielder (Seattle Mariners) $11,400: Evan Carter, Outfielder (Texas Rangers) $10,800.
