Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with an interleague matchup featuring the Minnesota Twins and the Colorado Rockies. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.
Before we dive into the Minnesota Twins vs. Colorado Rockies game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.
FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules
Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.
The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.
If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.
*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.
Here are my FanDuel picks for tomorrow’s Minnesota Twins vs. Colorado Rockies matchup.
FanDuel MLB DFS Picks
MVP-Byron Buxton, Outfielder, Minnesota Twins $16,000
On Friday afternoon, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a three-game interleague series featuring the Minnesota Twins and the Colorado Rockies.
How are these two teams playing entering tomorrow’s MLB game? The Minnesota Twins arrive at the first game of this three-game series with the Colorado Rockies playing good baseball. The Twins have won four of the team’s last six games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a dominant 12-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates five days ago.
In direct contrast to the Minnesota Twins, the Colorado Rockies are playing below average baseball entering tomorrow afternoon’s interleague game. More specifically, the Rockies have lost five of the team’s last six games played this season, including an embarrassing 10-2 loss to the Boston Red Sox last week.
Now that we have identified how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to tomorrow’s contest. Talented outfielder Byron Buxton has been a standout performer for the Minnesota Twins in 2025. Having stated that, how has Buxton performed from a statistical perspective? Let’s review Buxton’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.
In the 78 games that Byron Buxton has played for the Minnesota Twins in the 2025 MLB regular season, Buxton has compiled a .289 batting average, 12 home runs (21st in MLB), 33 walks, 56 RBIs (runs batted in), 64 runs scored, a .925 OPS (On-Base Plus Slugging) and a .351 OBP (On-Base Percentage) which ranks 26th in MLB.
Earlier this month, in the Minnesota Twins 12-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, Minnesota outfielder Byron Buxton played rather well. In the Twins victory over Pittsburgh, Buxton tallied five hits (one home run, one double, one triple), three runs scored and two RBIs. It should also be mentioned that in Minnesota’s defeat of the Pirates, Buxton amassed a massive 49.6 FanDuel points.
In my opinion, Byron Buxton is the most likely player to amass the most FanDuel points in this MLB game. For that specific reason, I am backing Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.
Flex plays I like in this game (FanDuel price noted): Hunter Goodman, Catcher (Colorado Rockies) $12,800: Ryan Jeffers, Catcher (Minnesota Twins) $9,200: Harrison Bader, Outfielder (Minnesota Twins) $6,600.
