The Hungarian Grand Prix was the last one before the teams go on summer break and it was quite a great way to do it. Ferrari headed into this weekend after not having a great race in the UK and they were really keen to get back to the top and they did this in style.
The weekend started off with a great for Ferrari as the made a statement in both the days of free practise. This speed was particularly shown by World Championship leader, Sebastian Vettel who was setting track records all weekend. This continued in qualifying as the German driver and former world champion set another track record and secured pole position. His teammate also had a good run securing second place. This was followed by the two Mercedes drivers that secured the second item of the grid.
The race had a lot of drama with the two Red Bull cars colliding causing one driver to receive a penalty while the other car had to pull out of the race. As far as the result was concerned though, the Ferrari were dominant as they secured both first and second place. Vettel got another win under the belt and this allowed him to extended his lead over Lewis Hamilton even further, Hamilton finished fourth and he will be going into this summer break with a lot of work to do if he wants to win another World Championship.
