2021 Cologuard Classic: PGA Tour Champions Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/26/21

This week, the PGA Tour Champions travels to Tucson, Arizona for the 2021 Cologuard Classic.

Before I discuss my two favorite golf bets for this week’s PGA Tour Champions event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and a few key facts that I feel are relevant to golf bettors this week.

The 2021 Cologuard Classic will be played at Omni Tucson National’s Catalina course. This golf course is a par 73 that measures 7,218 yards. This track has seven water hazards and 85 sand bunkers that are strategically placed throughout the golf course. It should also be noted that this course features five par five holes.

Key Facts

This will be the seventh consecutive year that the Cologuard Classic has been played at the Omni Tucson National’s Catalina course.

In the six previous Cologuard Classic tournaments played at the Catalina course, the winning score has on average been 13.16 strokes under par.

The 2021 Cologuard Classic will have a field of 81 golfers.

Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite bets for this week’s PGA Tour Champions event.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to win.

Jim Furyk +550 – Furyk arrives at this week’s 2021 Cologuard Classic playing some outstanding golf. Let me be more specific. Since November of last year, Furyk has played six events (PGA Tour Champions and PGA Tours combined). In those six events played, Furyk has five top 26 finishes, including a ninth place result at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai last month. It’s important to note that three of Furyk’s last six tournaments played were on the PGA Tour. Furyk made the cut in all three. Additionally, Furyk’s worst finish in the three PGA events just mentioned was 47th.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top five.

Steve Stricker +120 – If you are looking for a golfer that has a nice combination of good incoming form and outstanding previous event history than look no further, you have found your man. That man’s name is Steve Stricker. The 53 year old American won the 2018 Cologuard Classic. Stricker also arrives at this week’s event on the heels of a nice finish on the PGA Tour. Stricker fired a final round 67 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open earlier this month on his way to a fourth place result.
