This Friday, the PGA Tour presents the golf betting community with the second round of the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Before I discuss my favorite matchup bets for Friday’s second round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational let’s take a look at the current leaders in second round scoring average on the PGA Tour.

Here is a list of the top six ranked golfers in second round scoring average on the PGA Tour that are in this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational field with that player’s average second round score this season.

1. Viktor Hovland 67.78

2. Sam Burns 67.90

3. Bryson DeChambeau 68.17

4. Patton Kizzire 68.18

5. Billy Horschel 68.20

6. Kevin Na 68.60

Noe let’s shift our focus to my favorite matchup bets for the second round of the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Lanto Griffin -110 over Patton Kizzire

Griffin has three consecutive top 26 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a seventh place result at the Farmers Insurance Open last month. It should also able noted that Griffin fired a three under par 69 in today’s first round of the API.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Lanto Griffin ranks 11th in strokes gained putting, eighth in strokes gained approach, and 14th in GIR (greens in regulation).

Jason Kokrak -175 over Steve Stricker

I was fortunate enough to watch some of Jason Kokrak’s round today and it has to be said that his play on the course certainly passed my eye test. Upon completion of the first round, Kokrak’s four under par 68 was good enough to leave him in fourth place. In direct contrast to that, 53 year old Steve Stricker settled for a first round 72 leaving him in a tie for 43rd after day one of the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational. Frankly, I don’t think Steve Stricker has the fire power to have a better score than Kokrak in round two. For me, Jason Kokrak is an auto bet in this matchup.

Byeong Hun An -117 over Joel Dahmen

Hun An has two top 14 finishes at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in the last three years, including a tenth place result in 2019. Additionally, Hun An played significantly better than Joel Dahmen in the first round of this afternoon’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. I think Hun An wins this matchup easily.
