This week, the PGA Tour presents the 2021 Masters.

The 2021 Masters will be played at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The Augusta National golf course is a par 72 that measures 7,475 yards. Water is in play on five of the 18 holes. This track also has 44 sand bunkers that are strategically placed throughout the golf course. This golf course will present this week’s field with bentgrass greens and ryegrass fairways.

Key Facts

The last debutant to win the Masters was Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979.

The last Masters winner to successfully defend his title was Tiger Woods in 2002.

Five of the last seven Masters winners ranked seventh or higher in par four birdie or better percentage the previous season.

Here are the key player statistics that I determined to be the most important this week: strokes gained off the tee, driving distance, GIR (greens in regulation), proximity to the hole, scrambling, and putting average.

Let shift our focus to my favorite golf bets for the 2021 Masters.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to win this week.

Jordan Spieth +1200 – I backed Charley Hoffman to win last week’s Valero Texas Open and Jordan Spieth was just too good for Charley down the stretch on Sunday. Hoffman had to settle for second. Well, let’s just say I like to learn from my mistakes. I am picking Jordan Spieth to win the 2021 Masters. Spieth has two top nine finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including his win at the Valero Texas Open.

Additionally, Spieth has outstanding previous event form at the Masters. Spieth has played the Masters every year since 2014. In those seven events played, Spieth has five top 11 finishes, including a win at the 2015 Masters.

Thanks to my beautiful wife Dawn, I was in Tennessee for Christmas last year. Why am I mentioning this you may ask? Well, Tennessee has legal sports betting and I was able to grab a futures bet for Jordan Spieth to win the 2021 Masters at odds of +6600 in December. So glad my wife planned that trip! You will not find odds of +6600 for Jordan to win this year’s Masters at any sportsbook now.

Here are two golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top 10.

Paul Casey +300 – The 43 year old has three top eight finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. Casey finished fourth at the 2016 Masters.

Matt Wallace +750 – The Englishman has two top 18 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including a third place result at the Valero Texas Open last week.
