The PGA Tour’s 2021 RBC Heritage begins this Thursday.

Before I dive into my favorite golf bets let’s discuss a few key facts that I think are of importance to golf bettors that are considering placing wagers on golfers with higher odds this week.

If I was looking for a golf tournament on the PGA Tour schedule to specifically focus on longshot bets the first event that would come to my mind is the RBC Heritage. Why would this event be the first tournament on my list? Let me explain.

Two of the last three winners of the RBC Heritage have won the event at significantly higher odds. Let me be more specific. C.T. Pan won the 2019 RBC Heritage. Pan’s odds to win the event prior to the start of the golf tournament was +16000. Satoshi Kodaira won the 2018 RBC Heritage at odds of +25000. Clearly, golfers that are not expected to win this event can certainly do so.

Now that we have established that golfers at higher odds have the potential to win this week’s PGA Tour event, let’s turn our attention to my longshot wagers. Here are my favorite longshot bets for the 2021 RBC Heritage!

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.

Michael Thompson +850 – The American has five top 25 finishes in his last ten tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the American Express in January. It should also be noted that Thompson grabbed his second win on the PGA Tour at the 3M Open in July of last year. Clearly, Thompson’s game is trending in a positive direction.

I should also note that Thompson has played well at this event previously. Thompson finished eighth at the 2019 RBC Heritage. He followed up that quality result with a tenth place finish at the 2020 RBC Heritage.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top 20.

Brice Garnett +550 – The 37 year old has three top 25 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the Puerto Rico Open in February. Garnett also finished 17th at the 2020 RBC Heritage.
