Meijer LPGA Classic

This week, the LPGA Tour travels to Michigan for the 2021 Meijer LPGA Classic.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for this week’s LPGA Tour event let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play and a few key facts that I think are relevant to those placing wagers on the 2021 Meijer LPGA Classic.
The 2021 Meijer LPGA Classic will be played at the Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan. The golf course is par 72 that measures 6,556 yards. This course was designed by William Langford and Theodore Moreau in 1928. However, the course had a complete restoration in 2020. This track features 64 bunkers and rather small green complexes. Due to the fact that this golf course is only 6,556 yards, long hitters will definitely have an advantage from a scoring perspective.
The Meijer LPGA Classic has been played at the Blythefield Country Club every year that the event has been played on the LPGA Tour.
The Meijer LPGA Classic debuted on the LPGA Tour schedule in 2014. The tournament was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The average cumulative four round winning score of the two previous winners of the Meijer LPGA Classic was 21 under par (2019 Brooke Henderson -21: 2018 So Yeon Ryu -21).
Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bets for the 2021 Meijer LPGA Classic!
Here are three golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top 20.
Lizette Salas +250
The 31 year old arrives at this week’s Meijer LPGA Classic event in rather good form. Salas has accumulated three consecutive top 23 finishes on the LPGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the Pure Silk Championship a month ago.
Salas also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event history. Salas has played the Meijer LPGA Classic five times since 2015. In those five tournaments just mentioned, Salas has three top 17 finishes, including a fifth place result at the 2015 Meijer LPGA Classic.
Madelene Sagstrom +330
The 28 year old has two top 20 finishes in her last five tournaments played on the LPGA Tour. Let me provide you the specifics regarding the two top 20 finishes I just mentioned to better shed light on Madelene Sagstrom’s strong recent play on the LPGA Tour. Sagstrom posted an 11th place finish at the 2021 HSBC Women’s World Championship in April. She followed up that quality result with a 20th place finish at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open in May.
I also like the fact that Sagstrom has played well at the Meijer LPGA Classic previously. Sagstrom finished ninth at the 2019 Meijer LPGA Classic.
Su Oh +350
The 25 year old Australian has quite an impressive record at this week’s LPGA event. Su Oh has played the Meijer LPGA Classic three times since 2017. In those three golf tournaments just mentioned, Oh has three top 13 finishes, including a second place result at the 2019 Meijer LPGA Classic. I like Su Oh’s chances of grabbing another top 20 finish at this year’s event.
