This week, the PGA Tour Champions presents the golf betting community with the Dominion Charity Classic!
Before I discuss my favorite tournament matchup bets for the Dominion Charity Classic let’s take a look at the current leaders in scoring average on the PGA Tour Champions that are in this week’s field.
Top Ten Golfers in Scoring Average
- Bernhard Langer 69.03
- Miguel Angel Jimenez 69.35
- Ernie Els 69.52
- Retief Goosen 69.60
- Jerry Kelly 69.62
- Robert Karlsson 69.66
- Mike Weir 69.70
- Rod Pampling 69.94
- Darren Clarke 69.98
- Scott Parel 70.00
Now that we have identified who the top ten golfers with regard to scoring average are on the PGA Tour Champions (in this week’s field) let’s shift our attention to my favorite tournament matchup bets for this week’s Dominion Energy Classic.
Bernhard Langer -125 over Alex Cejka
If you are looking for a golfer to fit the narrative of a “course horse” than look no further as you have found your man. That man’s name is Bernhard Langer. Langer has played the Dominion Charity Classic five times since 2016. In those five tournaments just mentioned, Bernhard Langer has accumulated six top six finishes, including a win at the 2017 Dominion Charity Classic.
Bernhard Langer also checks the box for me when it comes to current form. Langer has played five tournaments on the PGA Tour Champions since the beginning of September. In those five events just mentioned, Langer has accumulated four top nine finishes, including a second place result at the 2021 PURE Insurance Championship one month ago.

Scott Parel -115 over Jerry Kelly
Scott Parel fired a first round 65 at last week’s 2021 SAS Championship en route to an eventual fifth place finish.
In relation to this week’s current listed Dominion Charity Classic field, in the last three weeks of competitive golf played on the PGA Tour Champions, Scott Parel ranks tenth in driving accuracy (79.4%), tenth in driving distance (279.9 yards), and second in scrambling (81.7%).
I also like the fact that Scott Parel has performed well at this week’s PGA Tour Champions event previously. Parel finished fourth at the 2019 Dominion Charity Classic.
