This Sunday morning, the PGA Tour will present the golf betting community with the final round of the Bermuda Championship!

Before I discuss my favorite matchup bets for the final round of the Bermuda Championship let’s take a look at the current leaders in scoring average on the PGA Tour.

Before I discuss my favorite matchup bets for the final round of the Bermuda Championship let’s take a look at the current leaders in scoring average on the PGA Tour that are in this week’s field.

Top Five Golfers in Scoring Average

  1. Hayden Buckley 69.77
  2. Jim Knous 70.07
  3. Mito Pereira 70.20
  4. Danny Willet 70.26
  5. Beau Hossler 70.32

*I should note that the scoring average data just provided is isolated to the new PGA Tour season. The first event of the new PGA Tour season was the Fortinet Championship which took place last month.

Now that we have established who the top five golfers with regard to scoring average are on the PGA Tour (in this week’s field) let’s shift our attention to my favorite final round matchup bets for this week’s Bermuda Championship.

Russell Knox +105 over Alex Smalley

Russell Knox has two top 29 finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 24th place result at the 2021 Wyndham Championship in August.

When I place bets on golf tournaments that are ongoing, I like to look at key player statistics for the event as it is being played. Having stated that, let’s take a look at how Knox stacks up relative to the field through three rounds of competitive play. Upon completion of the third round of the Bermuda Championship, in relation to the field, Russell Knox ranks third in GIR (greens in regulation) and ninth in driving accuracy.

I also like the fact that Russell Knox has performed well at the Bermuda Championship previously. Knox finished 11th at the 2020 Bermuda Championship.

Patrick Reed -105 over Mito Pereira

Reed has posted some outstanding results on the PGA Tour this year. Reed won the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open in January, finished eighth at the 2021 Masters in April, fifth at the 2021 Memorial Tournament in May, and 19th at the 2021 U.S. Open in June.

In relation to this week’s current listed Bermuda Championship field, in the last 75 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Patrick Reed ranks third in strokes gained putting, third in bogey avoidance, fifth in strokes gained around the green, and sixth in birdie or better percentage.

Through three rounds of competitive play at the 2021 Bermuda Championship, Patrick Reed is currently tied for 17th place with a score of eight under par.
