2022 Masters: PGA Tour Golf Picks, Odds, Predictions 4/7/22
2022 Masters
April 7, 2022 8:00 am EDT
This week, the PGA Tour presents the first major championship of the year, the 2022 Masters.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for the 2022 Masters let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play and review a few key facts that I think are relevant to the golf betting community this week.
The 2022 Masters will be played at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The Augusta National golf course is a par 72 that measures 7,510 yards. Water is in play on five of the 18 holes. This track also has 44 sand bunkers that are strategically placed throughout the golf course. This golf course will present this week’s field with bentgrass greens and ryegrass fairways.
Key Facts
The last Masters winner to successfully defend his title was Tiger Woods in 2002.
Five of the last eight Masters winners ranked seventh or higher in par four birdie or better percentage the previous season.
The last debutant to win the Masters was Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979.
Hideki Matsuyama won the 2021 Masters with a four round score of ten under par.
Now let’s shift our focus to what I love doing the most! Here are my favorite golf bets for the 2022 Masters.
Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top five.
Justin Thomas +330
The 2017 PGA Championship champion arrives at this year’s 2022 Masters in rather good form. Let me be more specific. Since the beginning of January, Justin Thomas has played seven tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those seven events just mentioned, Thomas has accumulated four top eight finishes, including a third place result at the 2022 Valspar Championship two weeks ago.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Masters field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Justin Thomas ranks second in strokes gained on par fours, fourth in strokes gained ball striking, third in three putt avoidance, and 14th in GIR (greens in regulation).
Justin Thomas finished fourth at the 2020 Masters.

Shane Lowry +450
The 2019 Open Champion has accumulated three top 13 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the 2022 Honda Classic in February.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Masters field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Shane Lowry ranks fourth in GIR (greens in regulation) and sixth in strokes gained ball striking.
