2022 LA Open

This week, the LPGA Tour travels to California for the 2022 LA Open.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for this week’s LPGA Tour event let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play and a few key facts that I think are relevant to those placing wagers on the 2022 LA Open.
The 2022 LA Open will be played at the Wilshire Country Club in Beverly Hills, California. This golf course is a par 71 that measures 6,450 yards. This track will present this week’s field with only three par five holes. This golf course features tight fairways and heavily bunker protected greens. In my opinion, this track is a second shot golf course that will require outstanding ball striking from the fairway.
The 2022 LA Open debuted on the LPGA Tour in 2018. This year’s event will be the fourth time that the LA Open has been played on the LPGA Tour. The 2020 LA Open was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The average cumulative four round winning score of the three previous winners of the LA Open was 14 under par (2021 Brooke Henderson -16: 2019 Min-Jee Lee -14: 2018 Moriya Jutanugarn -12).
Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bets for this week’s LPGA Tour event.
Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to win the 2022 LA Open.
Minjee Lee +1800
Since the beginning of March, Minjee Lee has played four tournaments on the LPGA Tour. In those four events just mentioned, Lee has accumulated three top 12 finishes, including an impressive second place result at the 2022 HSBC Women’s World Championship.
Minjee Lee also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Lee has played the LA Open three times since 2018. In those three tournaments just mentioned, Lee has accumulated two top seven finishes, including a win at the 2019 LA Open.
Lee currently ranks third in driving distance (278.13 yards), third in GIR (greens in regulation-76.74%), and second in scoring average (69.00) on the LPGA Tour.
Here is a player to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.
Jessica Korda +250
The 29 year old American arrives at this week’s 2022 LA Open in rather good form. More specifically, Korda has accumulated three top 20 finishes in her last five events played, including a second place result at the 2022 Chevron Championship three weeks ago.
Jessica Korda also has had previous success at this week’s LPGA Tour event. Korda finished second at the 2021 LA Open.
