Rocket Mortgage Classic

This week, the PGA Tour travels to Michigan for the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for this week’s PGA Tour event, let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play and some additional facts that I feel are relevant to those that will be placing bets on the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
The 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic will be played at the Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan. The golf course is a par 72 that measures 7,370 yards. This track is a classical tree lined course that was designed by Donald Ross. Detroit Golf Club course will present this week’s field with rather wide, generous fairways and fast, undulating greens. This track also features four par five holes. It should be noted that water is in play on only one hole.
The Rocket Mortgage Classic made it’s debut on the PGA Tour schedule in 2019.
The average cumulative four round winning score of the two previous winners of the Rocket Mortgage Classic was 20.5 under par (2021 Cam Davis -18: 2020 Bryson DeChambeau -23).
Now let’s shift our attention to my favorite bets for the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Here are two golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.
Kevin Kisner +330
The 38-year-old American arrives at this week’s 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic on the heels of two consecutive top 21 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an impressive sixth place result at the 2022 Travelers Championship four weeks ago.
Kevin Kisner also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Let me be more specific. Since 2019, Kevin Kisner has played this week’s PGA Tour event three times. In those three tournaments just mentioned, Kisner has accumulated two top eight finishes, including a third place result at the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Chris Kirk +350
Chris Kirk has accumulated three top 15 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh place result at the 2022 RBC Canadian Open last month.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Chris Kirk ranks fourth in strokes gained tee to green, ninth in strokes gained ball striking, and third in strokes gained around the green.
