This week, the PGA Tour travels to North Carolina for the 2022 Wyndham Championship.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a player’s success this week.
The 2022 Wyndham Championship will be played at Sedgefield Country Club. This golf course is a classic Donald Ross design. The track is a par 70 that measures 7,131 yards. This course features pure Bermuda greens and fairways. It should be noted that the Wyndham Championship has been played at Sedgefield Country Club every year since 2008.
The key player statistics that I am looking at this week are GIR (greens in regulation), strokes gained approach, strokes gained tee to green, birdie or better percentage, and bogey avoidance.
Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bet for the 2022 Wyndham Championship!
Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top twenty.
Matt Wallace +600
The talented young Englishman arrives at this week’s 2022 Wyndham Championship on the heels of two consecutive top 26 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a tenth place result at last week’s 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Due to the fact that Matt Wallace performed so well at the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic, I decided to take a hard look at Wallace’s player statistics relative to the field.
After four rounds of competitive play at the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic, in relation to the field, Matt Wallace ranked tenth in scrambling (79%) and fifth in strokes gained putting (5.35).
It should also be noted that Matt Wallace needs to play well this week if he wants to keep his PGA Tour playing privileges next season. Wallace sits at 134th in the current official FedEx Cup points standings. Wallace needs to find his way inside the top 125 if he wants to secure his card.
