This week, the PGA Tour travels to Texas for the Cadence Bank Houston Open.
Before I dive into my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event, let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most important to a player’s success at this week’s Cadence Bank Houston Open.
The Cadence Bank Houston Open will be played at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas. This golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,412 yards. This track features five par five holes, wide fairways, and rather large greens. Water is in play on only four holes.
*This will be the third consecutive year that the Houston Open has been played at the Memorial Park Golf Course.
The key player statistics I will be focusing on for this event are strokes gained ball striking, GIR (greens in regulation), bogey avoidance, and birdie or better percentage.
Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top five.
Aaron Wise +350
Since the beginning of August, Aaron Wise has played seven tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those seven events just noted, Aaron Wise has accumulated an impressive five top 15 finishes, including a sixth place result at the CJ Cup two weeks ago.
In relation to this week’s current listed Houston Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Aaron Wise ranks second in bogey avoidance, tenth in strokes gained putting, and fifth in scrambling.
I also like the fact that Aaron Wise has performed well at this PGA Tour event previously. Wise finished 11th at the 2020 Houston Open.
