World Wide Technology Championship

This Saturday, the PGA Tour presents the third round of the World Wide Technology Championship.
Before I discuss my favorite matchup bet for the third round of the World Wide Technology Championship let’s take a look at the current leaders in scoring average on the PGA Tour that are in this week’s field.
Top Five Golfers in Scoring Average
- Billy Horschel 68.78
- Viktor Hovland 68.81
- Tom Hoge 69.04
- Maverick McNealy 69.52
- Taylor Montgomery 69.53
Now that we have determined who the top five golfers with regard to scoring average are (in this week’s field) let’s turn our attention to my favorite matchup bet for the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.
Emiliano Grillo -180 over Charley Hoffman
Since the beginning of July, Emiliano Grillo has accumulated four top five finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place result at the ZOZO Championship last month.
In relation to this week’s current listed World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Emiliano Grillo ranks ninth in GIR (greens in regulation) and tenth in birdies or better percentage.
Grillo also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. More specifically, Grillo has played this week’s PGA Tour event six times since 2016. In those six tournaments just noted, Grillo has accumulated four top 15 finishes, including an eighth place result at the 2020 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.
