Before I discuss my favorite tournament matchup bet for the opening PGA Tour event of 2023 let’s take a look at the current leaders in scoring average on the PGA Tour that are in this week’s field.

Since the beginning of August, Jon Rahm has played seven tournaments (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those seven events just noted, Rahm has accumulated six top-eight finishes, including two wins (2022 Open de Espana, 2022 DP World Tour Championship).
In relation to this week’s current listed Sentry Tournament Of Champions field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Jon Rahm ranks third in birdie or better percentage, third in strokes gained around the green, and second in strokes gained on par fives.
