Sentry Tournament Of Champions: PGA Tour Predictions, Odds 1/5/23

2023 Sentry Tournament Of Champions
January 5, 2023 2:30 pm EDT

This week, the PGA Tour travels to the beautiful shores of Hawaii for the 2023 Sentry Tournament Of Champions.

Before I discuss my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success this week.

The 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions will be played at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii. The Plantation course is a par 73 that measures 7,596 yards. This track offers large fairways and greens.

I should also mention that wind is traditionally a factor at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Having stated that, make sure to keep an eye on the weather forecast closer to the start of the event.

The key player statistics that I will be focusing on this week are strokes gained putting, strokes gained tee to green, and proximity to the hole.

Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bet for the opening PGA Tour event of 2023!

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.

Seamus Power +300

The 35 year old Irishman certainly arrives at this week’s 2023 Sentry Tournament Of Champions in rather good form. Since the beginning of May, Seamus Power has played 15 tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those 15 events just noted, Power accumulated seven top 25 finishes, including a win at the Bermuda Championship in October.

I also like the fact that Seamus Power has previously illustrated an ability to play outstanding golf when the lights are shining the brightest. An example of that ability can clearly be seen in Power’s impressive 12th place result at the 2022 U.S. Open in June.

In summary, I am backing Seamus Power to top ten at odds of +300.
