Valero Texas Open: PGA Tour Picks, Odds, Predictions 3/30/23

2023 Valero Texas Open
March 30, 2023 7:00 am EDT

This week, the PGA Tour presents golf bettors with the 2023 Valero Texas Open.

Before I dive into my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play in Texas.

The 2023 Valero Open will be played at TPC San Antonio (AT&T Oaks Course) in San Antonio, Texas. The AT&T Oaks Course is a par 72 that measures 7,379 yards. This course is one of the longest tracks on the PGA Tour each and every year. Most of the length from this course is due to the long par five holes.

The key player statistics that I have determined to be the most important this week are: strokes gained tee to green, GIR (greens in regulation), proximity to the hole, strokes gained approach, and driving accuracy.

Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bet for the 2023 Valero Texas Open.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to win this week’s PGA Tour event.

Rickie Fowler +2000

Rickie Fowler has accumulated five top 20 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including a 13th place result at the 2023 Players Championship two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Valero Texas Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Rickie Fowler ranks ninth in strokes gained tee to green, tenth in strokes gained ball striking, and 11th in birdie or better percentage.

It should be noted that Rickie Fowler finished 17th at the 2021 Valero Texas Open. Having stated that, I fully expect Rickie to post a much better result at this year’s event.
