*The Andalucia Masters has been played at the Club de Golf Valderrama since the tournament debuted on the European Tour in 2010.

Now that we have established who the top ten golfers with regard to scoring average are on the European Tour (in this week’s field) let’s shift our attention to my favorite tournament matchup bets for this week’s Andalucia Masters.

Andrew Johnston -110 over Aaron Rai

Andrew Johnston has played quality golf on the European Tour over the course of the last six months. Let me provide you with relevant data to better shed light on my previous statement. Johnston has played 11 tournaments on the European Tour since the beginning of May. In those 11 events just mentioned, Johnston has accumulated six top 24 finishes, including an impressive sixth place result at the prestigious BMW PGA Championship four weeks ago.

Johnston also checks the box for me when it comes to previous course/event history. Johnston finished 22nd at the 2018 Andalucia Masters and won the 2016 Open de España (played at Club de Golf Valderrama).

In relation to this week’s current listed Andalucia Masters field, in the last five weeks of competitive golf played on the European Tour, Andrew Johnston ranks ranks sixth in GIR (greens in regulation-76.9%), 13th in scrambling (64.5%), and tenth in driving accuracy (65.5%).

Wil Besseling -110 over Pablo Larrazabal

Besseling fired a first round 64 at last week's 2021 Open de España en route to an eventual sixth place finish. I also like the fact that Wil Besseling has performed well at this week's European Tour event in the past. More specifically, Wil Besseling finished third at the 2021 Andalucia Masters.

In relation to this week’s current listed Andalucia Masters field, in the last eight weeks of competitive golf played on the European Tour, Besseling ranks eighth in GIR (greens in regulation-75.3%) and 13th in driving distance (312.8 yards).

I should also note that Wil Besseling has historically posted quality tournament results in Spain. Since the beginning of 2018, Besseling has played eight events on the European Tour and European Challenge Tours combined. In those eight tournaments just mentioned, Besseling has accumulated six top 29 finishes. Additionally, Besseling made the cut in all eight events just mentioned.
