This week, the European Tour travels to the Netherlands for the Dutch Open.

Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for this week’s European Tour event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a player’s success at this week's Dutch Open.

The Dutch Open will be played at the Bernardus Golf Club in Cromvoirt, Netherlands. The Bernardus course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,425 yards. This track will present this week's field with four par fives, ten par fours, and four par threes. The Bernardus Golf Club will be hosting the Dutch Open for the first time this week. The European Tour website does not provide much information on this new track so I cannot elaborate any further regarding the golf course.

Now let's take a look at the key player statistics that I will be focusing on this week. Due to the limited information I have regarding the specifics of the golf course, I am going to go with basic key player statistics that would lead a golfer to success on most golf courses that are played on the European Tour each week. Having stated that, the key player statistics that I will be focusing on this week are GIR (greens in regulation), driving accuracy, strokes gained approach, strokes gained putting, par four scoring average, and strokes gained around the green.

Here are my favorite golf bets for this week's Dutch Open!

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.

Marcel Siem +350

The 41 year old German has had quite the career resurgence recently. Let me be more specific. Siem has accumulated four top 21 finishes in his last six tournaments played on the European Tour, including an impressive 15th place result at the 2021 Open Championship.

Siem also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Siem is currently ranked 11th in driving accuracy (62.57%), 17th in strokes gained approach (0.75), tenth in three putt avoidance (0.33), and third in par four scoring average (3.94) on the European Tour. Based on all of the data just presented, I absolutely love Marcel Siem's chances to post a top ten this week.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top 20.

Ashley Chesters +300

The 31 year old has accumulated four top 24 finishes in his last seven tournaments played on the European Tour, including a 13th place result at the Cazoo Classic one month ago.

I reviewed the cumulative player statistics over the course of the last three months for the entire Dutch Open field. Chesters name popped up multiple times in my statistical model when I completed this task. Let me provide you the relevant data to better shed light on my previous statement.

In relation to this week’s current listed Dutch Open field, in the last three months of competitive golf played on the European Tour, Ashley Chesters ranked fourth in GIR (greens in regulation), first in driving accuracy, and seventh in par four scoring average.
