2023 Sony Open: PGA Tour Predictions, Odds 1/12/23

This week, the PGA Tour travels to the Waialae Country Club for the 2023 Sony Open.

Before I discuss my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success this week.

The 2023 Sony Open will be played at the Waialae Country Club. This golf course is a par 70 that measures 7,044 yards. Additionally, this track features tree lined fairways and rather small green complexes. Water is in play on only two holes. This track also features bermuda grass fairways and greens.

The key player statistics that I will be focusing on will be strokes gained putting, strokes gained tee to green, and GIR (greens in regulation).

Now let’s shift our attention to my favorite golf bet for the 2023 Sony Open.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top 20.

Gary Woodland +275

In his last event played on the PGA Tour in November, Gary Woodland fired a third round 67 en route to an eventual ninth place at the Houston Open.

I also like the fact that Gary Woodland has posted quality results at this week’s PGA Tour event previously. Since 2015, Gary Woodland has played the Sony Open five times. In those five events just noted, Woodland has accumulated four top 13 finishes, including a sixth place result at the 2017 Sony Open.

In summary, I am backing Gary Woodland to top 20 at odds of +275.
