The Fingers Lakes Race Track will host the meet of the day in the New York Breeders Futility (Race 7).

The New York Breeders Futility features six 2-year-old runners, including one filly, that will go six furlongs in what should be a fantastic race.

#6 Blue Gator (ML 3/1) showed some excellent early speed while winning his debut in a $52,000 six-furlong event at Belmont on Sept. 25. The son of Liam’s Map, who was purchased for $100,000, is the only competitor in the field to earn a victory in a special maiden weight race. Trainer Mike Maker is one of the best in the business and his horses have a strike rate of 19% when coming off a win in his last race and a 13% win percentage in stakes races over the past year.

5 Our Man Mike ( 9/2) will look for a better result after finishing second to Thin White Duke, despite breaking slowly out of the gate, in the Aspirant Stakes. The son of Street Boss put in a good work recently. #1 Thin White Duke (9/5) has won his last two starts -- both stakes races -- and overcame major trouble halfway through the Aspirant Stakes before winning in driving fashion. Thin White Duke, who has developed as a closer, has hit the board in all six of his career races.

#3 Blame It On Mary (5/1) is arguably the second fastest of the competitors and jockey Andy Sanchez Hernandez will likely try to set the pace. The daughter of Blame was caught at the wire in the Lady Fingers Stakes by Party at Page’s and Summer Brew, her last time out.

2 Citizen K (6/1) will be running for the first time as a gelding. The son of Mizzen Mast is also making his debut at Finger Lakes and gets blinkers for the first time. Citizen K, like Our Man Mike, is also trained by Horatio DePaz.

#3 Sproles (12/1) is making his debut for trainer Rafael Rohena, who has doesn’t have much experience with first-time runners. I don't expect him to be a factor.

I believe that #6 Blue Gator could go wire to wire in this one although I expect him to battle #3 Blame It On Mary in the early going. If neither one is able to break loose, it could leave the door open for Thin White Duke or Our Man Mike.

Daniel’s Pick Best Picks: I will make an exacta box bet of #6,#5, #1 as well as a trifecta box of #1, #5, #6, #3. Additionally, I like a show bet on the #5.
