Here is a look at three of the cards on GPW’s eight races on Wednesday. All three events should be exciting and pretty good betting races.

Race 1 - Maiden Special Weight (Purse -$46,000) Nine 2-year-old fillies, including four freshman starters, will sprint five furlongs on the turf.

Analysis: #2 Driving Wind (7/2) is coming off a very strong effort in her debut where she was second best. Driving Wind also put up an impressive 46.84-second, four-furlong training session -- on Thursday -- for trainer Jose Pinchen, who has an 18% career strike rate with 2-year-olds. Estellina (15/1) is making her debut and has shown improvement in each of her last three training sessions. #6 Short Circuit (5/1) will make her debut after a strong three-furlong and five-furlong training session. Both jockey Paco Lopez and trainer Victor Baboza Jr. have fared well with first-time runners. #8Lionnessofbrittany (9/2) has some speed but will look for improvement from her debut after weakening and finishing a distant fourth. #3 Frankly My Dear (3/1) has shown improvement in each of her last three outings although the daughter of Jess’s Dream appears better for this distance. This will be Frankly My Dear’s turf debut.

Best Bets: I like a win on the #2 and a show on the #6. I also like #2, #6, #8.

Race 3- Starter Optional Claiming $25,000-$16,000 (Purse- $28,000)

Seven colts and geldings 3-years-old and upwards will go six-and-one-half furlongs. This has all the makings of a fun race.

Analysis: #7 Miles Ahead (2/1) has turned in the best two performances of his career over the last two events, registering ESpeeds of 99 and 114 while winning both races. An offspring of Competitive Edge, Miles Ahead is racing at this distance for the first time but he has raced well at six-furlongs lately. Paco Lopez will be in the saddle for the 3-year-old gelding who has four wins in six starts. #3 All Around (3/1) has been racing at a high-level lately, winning four events and recording three other top-3 finishes in his last seven races. The 4-year-old gelding has not raced since the beginning of September and she has a 25% win rate at this distance. All Around, who is a closer, also has trained well since his last outing. #2 Examiner (10/1) has run extremely well on dirt and gets some relief in distance and class as he finished a distance fifth going a mile against $62,500 claimers. The 5-year-old gelded son of Distorted Humor, who has one win in two races at this distance, has been training well and gets a weight allowance with apprentice jockey Mario Fuentas on board. #5 Life In Shambles (7/2) runs pretty well at this distance and is dropping down in class.

Best Bets: I like a win on the #7. I also like a show bet on #2.

Race 7 - Allowance Optional Claiming $62,500 (Purse - $44,000) Six fillies and mares will go one mile on the dirt.

Analysis: This should be an excellent event. #6 Dream Marie (9-2) has been on the graded stakes circuit recently-- recording three top-3 finishes in eight stakes starts -- so she gets some and distance relief in this one. Dream Marie has two victories going this distance and turned in a spectacular 58-second five-furlong workout on Oct. 24. #3 Bella Ciao (3/1) has been very consistent over her last three outings, cashing in each of those events. The 4-year-old filly has nine top-3 finishes in 11 starts this year and has fared extremely well in an allowance optional claiming events. Plus, Bella Ciao turned in an excellent four-furlong workout recently for trainer Mike Maker. #4 Bajan Girl (5/2) is a talented horse who is making a huge class jump after easing to a 12 length victory against $25,000 optional claimers the last time out. #1 Alizee (5/1) has shown that she is much better on the dirt than on the turf over her career and she returns to the main track in this one after coming up empty in a one-mile event on the grass. Alizee, who is 10-3-1-1 on the dirt, has one victory in five tries going this distance.

Best Bets: I like a win bet on the #6. I also like a #6,3, #4 exacta box.
