Cleveland Indians vs. New York Yankees - 10/5/17 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction
2017-10-05 06:38:00 EDT
The New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians facee off in game one of the ALDS on Thursday night.
Thee New York Yankees advanced to face the Indians thanks to an 8-4 victory over the Minnesota Twins in the Wild Card game on Tuesday. Didi Gregorius led the team by going 1 for 3 with a three run home run, while Aaron Judge added a two run blast and Brett Gardner added a solo homer. Greg Bird and Aaron Hicks each chipped in an RBI, while Gary Sanchez went 2 for 4 with a double in the win. Luis Severino went just 0.1 innings in the start, giving up a pair of home runs and three earned, not factoring in the decision. David Robertson threw 3.1 innings of relief to get the W. No starting pitcher has been announced for the Yankees as of yet but we will update that info once it has been released.
The Cleveland Indians come into this series as the top seed in the American League with a 102-60 record and the American League Central division championship. Edwin Encarnacion belted out a team-high 38 homers and 107 RBIs while Francisco Lindor belted out 30+ fingers of his own with 33 homers and 89 RBIs. Jose Ramirez was arguably the team’s most consistent batter, hitting a team-leading average of .318, with team-highs of 56 doubles, 6 triples and 91 extra base hits. Corey Kluber leads the dangerous Indians’ pitching staff into the ALDS, along with Carlos Carrasco and Trevor Bauer. Bauer will start game one for the Tribe and was 17-9 with a 4.19 ERA and 196 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bauer is 3-4 with a 4.28 ERA and 36 strikeouts against the Yankees.
We will update with trends once they are released.
As of right now I’m leaning Indians who were one of the league’s best down the stretch and Bauer has already done well against New York this season, but I need to see who New York sends to the mound before I make my final pick, so please check back for your free pick.
