The Colorado Rockies and New York Mets conclude their series at Citi Field on Thursday.
Colorado continued to be in fade mode following a 5-0 loss at Citi Field on Wednesday. The Rockies have just two wins in eleven contests and are quickly falling from grace in the National League West. It's become apparent this team needs to rediscover their scoring touch, but is it too late? Starter Jhoulys Chacin was hurt by the lack of support, with only two runs given up in seven frames before Matt Corpas let it get out of hand, with three runs allowed in just an inning. That was way too much for the offense to contend with on just four harmless singles. Tyler Chatwood is scheduled to be on the hill after missing his last start with a hamstring issue. Chatwood was hammered for seven earned runs on ten hits and a walk through 2.1 innings of a 9-0 loss to Atlanta.

The Mets are playing around .500 baseball over the last few weeks, which obviosly won't cut it in the National League East with Atlanta going off on what might be a decisive run. New York has been getting some pretty good work on the mound but the bats have struggled to score consistently. They had no problems in the world Wednesday with Matt Harvey tossing a dominant four hit shut out in a complete game performance. The bats did the rest on nine hits and three bases on balls, with Wilmer Flores smacking a three run double in the 8th to break the game open. The Mets send Dillon Gee to the mound Thursday to face off with Colorado. Gee would like to duplicate his effort in a 4-2 victory over Kansas City in which he gave up one run on three hits and two walks in seven frames.
My initial thought was Colorado with Chatwood (if he even starts), but his hamstring worries me. Probably a good one to back away from...
