The Cleveland Indians and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Saturday at Progressive Fied for game two of their series.
The Cleveland Indians fell behind in the first inning on Friday and never were able to catch up and they dropped game one of their series to the visiting Angels. Asdrubal Cabrera and Michael Brantley each hit home runs and Nick Swisher and Jason Kipnis had hits as the Indians scored two runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Scott kazmir allowed six hits and five runs while striking out three over 3.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 7-5 on the season. For Saturday’s game the Indians start Ubaldo Jimenez, who has lost two of his last three starts. For the season Jimenez has allowed 110 hits and 54 earned runs while striking out 110 over 116.1 innings for an 8-6 record and a 4.18 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels have had a disappointing year, but on Friday they had reason to cheer as they knocked off the Indians in Cleveland. Josh Hamilton hit a home run, Erick Aybar had two hits, and J.B. Shuck and Mark Trumbo had hits as the Angels scored five runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Jered Weaver allowed six hits and two runs while striking out four over 7.0 innings to get the win and raise his record to 7-5 and Dane De La Rosa earned his first save. For Saturday’s game the Angels start C.J. Wilson who has won seven of his last eight decisions. For the season Wilson has allowed 140 hits and 57 earned runs while striking out 137 over 147 innings for an 11-6 record and a 3.49 ERA.
Cleveland is 20-7 in their last 27 games as a home favorite, 35-18 in their last 53 home games, and 703 in Jimenez’s last 10 starts. Los Angeles is 11-2 against the AL Central, 1-6 in their last seven road games, and 7-3 in Wilson’s last 10 starts.
